Jobless benefits end for 230,000 this weekend Does that mean that the jobless rate will drop miraculously by 230,000?

Does that mean that the jobless rate will drop miraculously by 230,000?Yep, and only a few (i.e. conservative bloggers) will state the actual reason. The liberal media will be touting it like it's a big win for Obama.

Does that mean that the jobless rate will drop miraculously by 230,000? No, but the "labor force participation rate" may drop.
"Labor force participation rate" is not equal to "jobless rate."
