“The flight arrived at Sky Harbor about 7:30 p.m. and fliers had to stay put, parked on the tarmac for about an hour and a half.

All of the passengers were bused back to the terminal for re-screening and the luggage was taken off.”

This is why I don't fly. First, the theory, that to protect people, that they will be held in a zone of danger for an hour and a half. Second, the theory that there is some justification in the slightest to subject those who had been held against their will in an area where it is suspected that a device or other hazardous conditions were occurring to another round of ‘screening.’

Yes, if I wanted to re-enter the secure area, I could see some slight justification for it - not that I agree with strip search air in the first place. But ‘screening’ to be permitted to exit the airport?

I'd be in jail, probably first for not wanting to stay in my seat as a human guinea pig to see if the plane blew up on the tarmac, but second in absolutely refusing any further inspection of my person without a warrant from a judge with established probable cause.

I'm finding it really hard to recognize this nation anymore.

Newsguy on KFI just mentioned something about a possible threat at John Wayne airport in Orange Co.

No details.
