Senate GOP says they'll block White House student loan bill

Senate Republicans will block Democrats from taking up a White House-backed bill to cap rates on some student loans unless Democrats allow a vote on a GOP alternative, the second-ranking Senate Republican said Monday.

Best thing I've heard since the senate Republicans said that 0bamacare was DOA in the senate.

You need to look at strategy.

There are a large number of students who just graduated with no job. Doubling the interest on their loans will not make them vote GOP, it will make them vote for the DEMs.

The cost, compared to the various boondoggles, is pretty small. We spend more on stupid grants than we would get from this. This is being used as a ploy by Obama, and the GOP is falling for it.

Agree to a freeze, or have it set to LIBOR plus a point or so. The way they are doing it now makes me think that the GOP is really trying to lose the election. Again.
