Posted on 05/06/2012 6:36:35 PM PDT by Third Person

Europe was plunged into fresh economic chaos last night as France rejected austerity and elected a tax-and-spend socialist president. Nicolas Sarkozy suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Francois Hollande, who ran on a platform of tearing up last December’s controversial deal to save the euro from oblivion. The inexperienced Mr Hollande is now seeking talks with the European Central Bank and German Chancellor Angela Merkel to demand further borrowing to boost growth.

They are in love with the socialist ideas—now they will discover where it leads—Maybe its a good thing if a better France can come out on the other side. My bet—LePen will be the next President after this. If I had money or if I was Jewish I would be packing my bags now.

First thing he’ll do is freeze all assets of the rich and their bank accounts, and then confiscate their wealth, and will have to prevent their exit from the country.

Then, he’ll have to take over all businesses, and run them. It’s the only way that socialists and communists know how to do things, and it’ll please those who voted for him, and then, within a short period of time, they’ll all realize that they screwed themselves into becoming another Cuba or another North Korea.

Obama will be watching closely to see if there are any teachable moments in there for him, because, Hollande will be the guinea pig for Obama’s plans.

The title reminds of The Cars song, “Let The Good Times Roll”!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCmkZFMSuFQ

“Good Times Roll”
by the Cars

let the good times roll
let them knock you around
let the good times roll
let them make you a clown

let them leave you up in the air
let them brush your rock and roll hair
let the good times roll
let the good times roll
let the good times roll

let the stories be told
they can say what they want
let the photos be old
let them show what they want

let them leave you up in the air
let them brush your rock and roll hair
let the good times roll
let the good times roll-oll
lets let the good times roll

good times roll

if the illusion is real
let them give you a ride
if they got thunder appeal
let them be on your side

let them leave you up in the air
let them brush your rock and roll hair
lets let the good times roll-oll
let the good times roll
let the good times roll
lets let the good times roll
we’ll let the good times roll

oh-hoh-oh

I don’t know how they do that. The can’t print euros and no one will lend a lefty like this money, and Obama isn’t going to give France money in an election year.

Pull out of the euro is about their only option if they want to go Full Krugman.

In the movie May Fools (about the Socialist uprisings of May 1968 in France), a kid comes back for a short vacation with his family, gushing over the wonders of socialism that he had learned about during his first term at the Sorbonne. Everyone will only work when they feel like it, he said, and no one will ever have to do a job they don't want to do.

And so on, until Grandpa said, "Well, that all sounds fine, but who will pick up the garbage?"
