Look, the Court was in a bind. They'd just made a ruling that relied on the concept of Executive supremacy.

The way he should have dealt with that mistake was simple ~ Use it against them.

Sure, we don't do dungeons anymore but the Court works in government owned buildings that get heating from the Executive. No reason they need heat.

Then there's parking. They don't need to park. Their predecessors didn't park cars back in the 18th century when the constitution was written, so why should they. The Executive could have taken the parking and leased it out to street vendors or something.

But, whether or not dungeons are in fashion these days, I think people who demand Executive supremacy should get their faces rubbed in it almost immediately. They are like puppies peeing on the couch!

I like your thinking!

I just don’t think it would fly.

I raise cain about the courts when they make stupid rulings, but I expect the Executive (state or fed) to obey them.

If the USSC strikes down Obamacare, I damn well expect him to obey the ruling. Bush didn’t like the ruling on military tribunals, but he worked with the Congress to get something acceptable to the court...it took 6 years.

The MA legislature had the opportunity to prevent gay marriage, but as I understand it, the libs that opposed civil unions and the conservative that opposed any compromise on gay unions blocked any chance at compromise.

I wouldn’t live in MA for any amount of money. That’s why I never liked Romney, anyone that would want to be governor of that messed up state was too liberal for me.

Unfortunately, its him or Obama.
