Okay, Marco Rubio....

....first I would LOVE for him to be the VP nominee. He’s young, he’s personable, he’s conservative.

Couple things on his interview...oh, reminds me....HE CAN TALK. Let’s throw out that rule that Republicans in the public spectrum need to talk like Captain Queeg McCann or Mumbles McConnell or even doublespeak Boehner.

First, he mindlessly repeats that silly mantra that “he’s a nice guy”...this time about Biden. Most times the pubs say that about Obamer and I want to slap them silly.

I know the polls always have Obamer’s likeability way high and of course the MSM, desperately, repeats that silly and meaningless statistic. Every person I’ve ever fired or known to be fired for doing a lousy job....EVERY ONE....the meme begins with...”he (or she) is a very nice person”.

Somebody tell the world that very nice people can DO LOUSY JOBS. Being a nice person, go with me on this, does not make one a fine and competant employee.

Also, about this Dream act. Oh I know the meme....”these are young people brought to this country through no fault of their own” and us boobs out in la la land for so long desperately trying to get some kind of sensical immigration system, are supposed to feel guilty for being so mean.

Lookit, a sensible immigration system is not allowing millions of illegal aliens into your country and some 18 years later making all their CHILDREN legal. A sensible immigration system is setting up and protecting borders, having a detailed and followed system to allow those people in our country who meet our requirements and to follow up that they are doing what they agreed to do for citizenship.

They mock us and call us names but stick to it folks. I remember Reagan and that great big amnesty thing. We all said okay....THIS TIME, let’s make them all legal.

The promise by the politicos was that going forward we will set up a system to protect our borders and have a sensible, trackable system.

Just because the politicians kept kicking the can down the road until once again those of us who carry this country on our backs and understand such as fences, doors and locks, are mocked for being mean.

Cause if you just let their children, boom, become citizens....you will have thereby created an immigration system that allows illegals to sneak into our country, drop their babies....and there you have it...America’s immigration system.

NO WE DON’T WANT THAT.

Not saying I’m against the Dream Act. Saying we need to think this thing through, we need to never let that travesty of granting amnestity every thirty years or so to be our de facto immigration system.

Cause it’s a problem and while I like Rubio, I’ll not fall thunk for a wave of a manicured hand that I should not be mean to little Ricardo whose parents were illegal immigrants.

I’m not that dumb I say to these politicians.

I was born at night, but not LAST NIGHT.

Rubio is personable and knowlegeable and a good speaker.

However, in the Wallace interview, he did fumble a few words and responses. Those would be overlooked at this time. If, however, he became the VP nominee, those kinds of phrase-fumbles could be disastrous. He would be better served by taking a moment to think and formulate a response, rather than rendering an off-the-cuff commentary.

That just shows up his current level of political inexperience.

Biden/Obama can get away with those kinds of blunders, as the MSM covers for them. The Republican VP nominee would be skewered for similar blunders.

Conclusion: Rubio needs more political experience before he is ready for the national stage. [Recall how they literally destroyed Palin in 2008.]

The argument that any benefits given to ‘anchor’ babies or children brought here at an early age or children born here to illegals is an incentive for people to come here is bogus.

(not saying you said, that fish, just saying)

That’s not what people who come here are thinking about at all.

The only solution to illegals coming in is To Stop Them from coming in.

I thought Rubio’s solution sounded reasonable.

And, by the way, people, if you hate the thought of a Dream Act, better get Obama out.

Anchor babies already have a good case that they are citizens by virtue of being born in the USA. If it ever goes to the Supreme Court, I think they would win.

I know they would win if Obama appoints a couple more judges.

I don’t support Rubio because I think the Hispanic vote is fractured into people from different countries. Cubans are not nuts about Mexicans and vice versa. So he will not draw many Latinos in.

More importantly, he has no real executive experience, which is a drawback to me.

I do believe, however, that his parents were legal immigrants, refugees from Cuba.

You comment on how fresh and smart Rubio seems now. I agree. But I also recall, as you may also, Dan Quayle. In the months leading up to GHW Bush’s nomination, Indiana Senator Quayle was making the rounds as a bright, very well spoken fresh voice of conservatism. He was a former journalist, ran a family owned newspaper, etc. Seemed like a great choice for VP. Then when it happened, the roof fell in. Basically media Palinized him. Asked him the most inane questions which caught him off guard and bewildered him. He lacked preparaton and handlers. I think his relentless vetting started the second he stepped out of that mobile trailer where he met with Bush outside convention hall. Now he is a remembered as a joke and a mistake. [Oh, if only O was treated thusly by media]
