As Sandy Alderson said when the majority of MLB umpires resigned in an attempt to force the league to comply with their demands: the resignations are "either a threat to be ignored or an offer to be accepted."

CSU is a hideously expensive redundancy that needs to be broken up and (partially) absorbed by the UC and community college systems.

I was wondering if the Obama administration is floating the idea of forgiving student loans in an attempt to ‘buy’ the youth vote. So when I see that college profs may strike in the fall, around voting time, I do wonder if they are hoping the students will organize rallies and protests etc. on behalf of Obama to ‘get’ those student loans forgiven.

How about: If you strike, you loose your tenure.
Has a nice ring to it.

Some of the folks I had classes from in the early ‘70s are still teaching there.
I taught a Lab class for a Professor who didn’t have enough students signing up for some of his classes so they gave credits from another dept. thus he was the “advisor” to my class. I was an undergraduate at the time and got $ 128 a month. He got his full salary for teaching 12 units, including my 1 unit Lab class in a subject of which he had little knowledge.

Obama isn't really supporting the college students, he's supporting the college staff. HIgher education is every bit as liberal as the MSM and has been inflating its own wages much faster than inflation for decades. Government guaranteed loans have meant neither the parents, nor the students, were limited in what they could pay for it by economic reality. The failure of liberal government in lower education to produce economically useful 'graduates' meant the demand for further 'education' was high. Per capita college staff pay skyrocketed, while any real work required was diluted in an ever increasing crowd of assistants and administrators. Meanwhile they bathed in self adulation as "elites" and recycle cash to their political enablers.

Obama only cares about those students who'll pass political muster to become the next generation of elite education donors. Half of the students now are destined for the welfare vote wagon; the rest are hopefully brainwashed into docility.

University Students! Throw off the shackles of the plantation-owner professors and strike against the back-breaking tuition fees laid upon you by the fat cat university professors and administrators! Boycott all university classes this Fall! The running-dog professors are sipping champagne and nibbling on caviar while you struggle to find enough money for ramen! The lazy professors are joy-riding in their BMWs and Mercedes while the teaching assistants do all the work, and you ride a bicycle! The university professors seek to keep you on the plantation, feeding your money into their greasy-lipped mouths so they can take sabbaticals in the Bahamas while you vacation at another low-paying job! Strike! Do not go to the university this Fall!

just as his mother was a 'compression' of several mother figures and his grandmother also? And, one must wonder, if a self-described black radical while at Columbia, why would he choose to have a white girlfriend? seems a little antithesis to his stated philosophies at Columbia doesn't it? well, other than the fact she was his sugarmomma, of course. A pattern seems to be emerging here of Zero's lifetime of using women to support/promote him, while denigrating them in public. This gal has been Monica Lewinskied, and I'm glad she's telling her story.
