Please, guys... we all know that any elected official or major candidate who wants to stay in Republican politics at the big league levels is going to endorse Mitt Romney. The last time major Republicans opposed the Republican nominee after the convention and got away with it was in 1964, when Romney's father was among many others who opposed Goldwater.

Those of us who are not in elected office have more freedom.

Let's face it: Romney beat us. Gingrich, Santorum, Cain, Perry, and Bachmann supporters all have more in common with each other than any of us have with Romney, and now we have virtually the worst possible Republican candidate because we couldn't unify behind a single candidate. We need to stop beating each other up and trying to work to put the conservative movement back together if, as seems likely, Romney loses this fall.

Let's not bash each other when we're going to have to find a way to work together after November.

A word to the people who opposed Rick Santorum: Xzins is correct when he says that “All of the pro-life conservatives EXCEPT Santorum have now endorsed Romney. Rick, the GOP-e won’t like you if you don’t get with the program and back the Massachusetts $50 babykiller.”

I am all but certain that Santorum will eventually endorse Romney and will be both very shocked and very happy if he doesn't, but as of today, the guy some people liked to attack as a stalking horse for Romney is the last one left **NOT** to endorse him.

Think about that.

I’ve said all along that they will all endorse Romney at some point. Its just the way things are done.

Duncan Hunter endorsed McCain on a promise then later retracted saying that McCain had broken the promise. However Hunter was leaving politics after that race anyway.

The only reason Santorum hasn’t endorsed Romney is the delegates he holds has value. Once he gets what he wants he’ll endorse.

The same when he stepped out of the race just before Pa. To loose there would have surely ruined his political career path.

Santorum’s in play in the very same way he always has been. Whatever advances his path....He’s holding out because the GOP would have it so until they are ready to play Rick’s hand.

Dick Cheney said Mitt would do a whale of a job.

Which position is he jockeying for?
