The terrified homeowner was on the ground with a gun pressed to her head. She managed to shoot the burglar.
Now Jackson County prosecutors have charged his alleged accomplice with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree burglary.
Dominique D. Richardson, 20, faces the murder charge because Missouri law allows accused accomplices to be charged with murder when a death occurs during the commission of a felony.
The homeowner acted in self-defense and did not face any charges, authorities say.
According to court documents, Richardson and Trevor Garms, 17, broke into a home in the 5800 block of Garfield Street at 2:15 p.m. April 9. The two men alleged boasted beforehand that they were planning to steal a flat-screen television and an Xbox 360.
The homeowner told police that she heard a knock on the door and Garms announced himself. She said when she opened the door that the two men pushed their way into her home, according to court documents.
"Garms held a handgun against her head and began telling her 'to get on the ground' while Richardson ran towards the back bedrooms," according to court documents. "During this time, the witness was next to her open closet door and reached in and grabbed a gun that was kept on the top shelf."
Garms was distracted and yelling at Richardson, allowing the woman to grab the gun unnoticed, according to court documents.
"Garms then put the gun to the back of the victim's neck and began trying to force her onto the ground. Thinking Garms was going to kill her, she fired one shot at him and he stumbled back," according to court documents. "She began begging him to leave, but he came back towards her and she fired again.

If 0bama had a son.....
Dominique Richardson
OK, I’ll be the first to say it: I wonder if Barry, Barack, Soetoro, Obama had a son, if he would look just like Garms?
You have common sense.
Calling Eric Holder! One of Your People is missing!
Man I love that law.
Trevor or Trayvon, being a 17 year old thug can get you killed.
“Does that mean I am racist?”

Just asking the question means the destructive, BigRace criminal industry has won.
Time to stop playing defense.
Actually, WAY past time.....
He looks like a famous person but I can’t put my finger on it.
Oh look, another violent black criminal.
Nope. You are just smart because you are using the law of averages.
After reading the story at the link I am reminded of a joke one of my kids once told me; “What do you say to a woman with two black eyes? Nothing, it doesn’t do any good, she was already told twice.” Well this dead thug was pretty stupid. She shot him, he fell back came at her again, she shot him again and he slumped over dropped his gun and picked it up and again she shot him the third time, he walked across the street and died. He had all kinds of chances to leave and live but decided to do us all a favor and died.
I feel sorry for the trauma the poor woman had to go through but thank her for her service to society. I always love a story with a happy ending.

Both will STILL vote for Obama in November!
Barry’s sons never learn. About par for Holder’s “people” — dumb as rocks.
“Missouri law allows accused accomplices to be charged with murder when a death occurs during the commission of a felony.”
“During the shooting, Richardson ran into the living room and saw what was happening. He ran out the back door to a car driven by a relative, according to court documents.”
How about the driver? Here’s another accomplice, arrest him/her for second degree murder and get that scum off the street as well!!!!
Actualy I just forgot the /s tag ;-)
looks like the gene pool will have one less feral in its mix, at least if the justice system is really just...
I think most stories of this type posted here on FR are about black perps..but not all.....I don’t know if the postings are giving us a false impression of black crime but I kind of think “not”....
