A conservative activist running an insurgent candidacy against the Maryland Republican establishment seized the post of national committeewoman at the state GOP convention Saturday, beating longtime party stalwart Audrey E. Scott.
The victory by Nicolee Ambrose of Baltimore represents a generational changing of the guard for Maryland Republicans. Her win came after a bitterly fought internal struggle that played out in blogs and on Facebook.

We will never take our country back unless conservatives control one or both political parties. Presently, we control none.
I think one of you may be the ping list coordinator to deal with this.
The master ping list is so old, I can’t tell anymore who’s running what for Maryland Freepers.
Agreed.
Great news. Maryland’s GOP was headed toward the same permanent loser status as California’s GOP. with the conservatives chased away in favor of cowardly me-too moderates of the Romney type.
A great example working from ‘bottom’ - up. Congratulations to this Repub winner! May there be many more to surround; and ‘protect’ Romney. (Certainly easier than ‘influencing’ the ‘card carriers’ per Obama, Inc. IMHO) And so yes; adding a message. . .
Take that, ya friggin’ RINOs!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
It’s a shame that pathetic loser RINO Ehlich was not similarly replaced in 2010 to go against O Malley.. I half think he was working for O Malley. FUBE/FUMoM
Excellent. Keep defeating liberals both in our own party and in the democrat party too.
I am unsure if MD has an “open” GOP primary.
The first thing I would do, if MD does, is to close the primary to only GOP voters. That would be a starting point.
The same can be said for all the other states who have open primaries. CLOSE THE PRIMARIES TO ONLY GOP VOTERS! Get rid of the Lugars, McCains, Grahams...etc.
Cheers!
Maryland primaries are closed. Only republicans can vote for republicans and only democrats can vote for democrats.
It may sound bitter, and if so, I have a right to be. After 20 years of voting Republican in the state of Communist Maryland, I am doing all I can to move out of state. Virginia is an immediate choice and may happen if I get the job I interviewed for.
Even California seemed like conservative heaven over MD...though I only spent time in San Diego, the conservitive haven of Californians, and home of Duncan Hunter.
Catching up on threads. Here is a ping to Maryland Freepers in hopes many can support a fine conservative!
Only a small light in the darkness, but a light nonetheless.
