Romney Tries to Channel Reagan, Gets Obama Instead
http://www.conservativehq.com ^ | 4/25/12 | Richard A. Viguerie

Much has been made of Mitt Romney’s failure to even once use the word “conservative” in his post-election speech on April 24.

No big surprise here on that one – Romney has made it clear all during the primary season he plans to win the nomination, and if possible the November election, without conservative or Tea Party support, so why change now?

While Romney’s failure to use the word “conservative” in his speech didn’t surprise us, one aspect of the speech was more than a little odd.

It was obvious the speech was intended to make Romney sound like President Reagan, but instead it made him sound more like Barack Obama.

It seemed to us that Romney’s speech writers went through a couple of old Reagan speeches with their dictionary of synonyms to insure that the sunny optimism for America’s future that was one of the qualities of Reagan’s best speeches came through loud and clear without opening Governor Romney to a charge of obvious plagiarism.

However, “He’s asking us to accept that Washington knows best – and can provide all,” and “We believe in America. We believe in ourselves. Our greatest days are still ahead. We are, after all, Americans!” and other phrases sounded so much like Reagan that the Romney campaign should probably send Reagan speech writer Tony Dolan a check just to be safe.

Unfortunately, the Reaganesque phrases didn’t actually connect Romney with any course of action or policy, and in that they smacked more of Barack Obama than Ronald Reagan.

One of Reagan’s great strengths as a communicator was his ability to build a case for his policies by presenting facts, and conservative ideas and philosophy leavened with a little humor.

I don’t agree with either guy Obama or Romney. I aim to vote against both. A protest vote.

If your parents are Mormon you do indeed have a tail. The horns come after baptism.....at least that's what I've heard.

I always noted in every debate or speech, that whenever Romney invoked the words from The Declaration of Independence, or made reference to God, our Creator, Romney would always say, "THE Creator."

Newt Gingrich, on the other hand, always said, We are Endowed by Our Creator.

A small difference or petty thing? Perhaps, but not to this Conserative. God and Constitution, before any politican or party.

As a Christian I can no more support a Mormon than I can a moslem, or a socialist than a marxist.

So, when it says that Mormons belief in the father the son and the Holy Spirit, they are really saying they believe in a God from another planet, with a goddess wife, who literally is the father of Jesus, and that there is a spirit being, the Holy Ghost, who is another God.

Thank you for the polite response.

I will say this.

I accept Christ as my Savior. I love Him. He is my LORD and King. Jesus is my Redeemer.

At the end of the day I try to love God and my fellow men.

Peace.

No one needs to help Obama.

In 2008 he was funded by Russia.
As per Wikileaks, McCain knew there was massive vote fraud and remained silent.
Spain will be "counting" our "votes".

Obamas re-election is in the bag. And the RNC is silent.

As Thomas Sowell has said, "There are no solutions, only trade offs."

You choice to not support Romney is SUPPORTING 0bama. Sorry but that is the way it is.

I am assured that McCain people were behind the malfunction of Sarah Palin’s teleprompter in an attempt to embarrass her during the RNC Convention. Don’t get me started with McCain but that was 08. We are fighting for our lives (literally) here in ‘12 and I will do what I can to defeat 0bama. I don’t care if he is defeated by Romney, Paul, Cain, Palin, an combination etc, etc. I don’t care.

My vote will be to defeat 0bama. Whoever that is. Vote in 12 to live another day because 0bama is dangerous to our grandchildren.

Bunkum. I voted for McCain. Romney will lose too.

Just as the DNC keeps the black vote on their "plantation", the RNC keeps conservatives hostage. I'm not playing anymore. They CHOSE Romney just as they CHOSE McCain. Their goal is power for themselves. They know Romney won't win.

Has ONE RNC elite said anything about vote fraud? Foreign powers funding our elections? No? Why? Because they don't care.

Obama won by vote fraud in 2008 and Spain will help him this time. The RNC has no intention of fighting Obama.

“You choice to not support Romney is SUPPORTING 0bama. Sorry but that is the way it is.”

I read this a hundred times a day. It is stupid at best, a mendacious lie at worst.

Don’t blame this site - it is a source of info. If you didn’t vote for Newt that this great supported, blame yourself!! HE IS the TOTAL opposite of mitt and barry!

Haven't voted yet. So can't blame myself. When the vote gets to my state (Utah) I will see who is on the ballot.

As far as Newt being the opposite, that is just silly.

Like it or not, the some Freepers (not most I believe) WILL be de facto supporting 0bama.

Sorry, that is the way it is. Simple math.

Not voting for Romney does not add one vote to Obama.

And you are trying to guilt trip people into voting against their conscience. Shame on you! Our votes belong to us, not you.

It is not math at all, it is a sophistry and logically absurd.

Of course your vote belongs to you. Guilt trip? Not hardly. I am trying to convince you to not cast a vote that will help 0bama be re-elected.

It is math.

For months FR was screaming for Santorum to drop out because he was helping Romney by taking votes from Newt.

IT IS THE EXACT SAME SITUATION WITH ROMNEY AND 0BAMA.

Then you vote for the one who told you that, OK? You obviously didn't do your homework for a comment like that.

If what others do Like it or not, the some Freeper, influences you or makes you feel better that you need to post it - then you are easily led. A lying politicians dream.

Simple math

Simple minded - which means a mittbot. They only type who would vote for a bishop of a cult and pro homo and pro baby killing candidate.
