This is so racist. The people in these zones are mostly black.

Social justice—indeed, racial justice—demands equality of results. Therefore, white neighborhoods should be placed under martial law too.

/S, I hope.

As world leaders prepare to meet in the windy city ... the implementation of regionalized martial law.

Wow, these "world leaders" must be doing such a great job, be so popular - the people just love them and their policies. ;-/

The more "leaders" screw over the people they control, the less popular they are, and the more security they feel the need to implement. Whenever you see some "leader" surrounded by a virtual iron curtain of security, you just know they know they have PO'd enough people to create a serious threat. It is one thing to protect a target from a lone whack job. That's fairly routine, that element is always going to be out there. But when you start locking down a County at a time, that tells you there is a broad-based uprising like threat. That only comes from the guy in the back of the armored car eff'n up by the numbers.

What is a “militarized red zone”? Somebody presuming to deploy armed, federal or federalized National Guard troops? The manner in which it’s done makes all the difference as to whether it’s an unauthorized use of force, a violation of posse comitatus or an authorized use of Illinois National Guard troops.

Given that those people require such security that an entire county needs to be almost in lock-down, it’s so courteous of them to pick one of the most populated counties in the country. Far be it from them to pick some rural county in Wyoming or Montana to lock down, disrupting all of a few dozen lives. Shoot, for the price they’re spending on security, they could give every family in such a county a free trip to wherever they wanted, and it would be millions cheaper than what they’re doing. Then again, maybe courtesy isn’t part of a central banker’s job.

While international summits are traditionally met with a larger police presence and preparations for the possibility of protests or rioting, what's taking place on American soil in anticipation of the May 20 meeting in downtown Chicago can be interpreted in only one way - the implementation of regionalized martial law.

One can debate the meaning of all this, but this is opinion - and given all the May Day mayhem we are seeing from the OWS pinheads today, there is cause to engage in these kind of preparations for the anarchist idiots.

No telling how bad it can get when a community loses its organizer.

Not to worry, the police and military folks would never follow laws such as these. /s

The real shame is that the vast majority of that county’s residents will just go along with it all like useless sheeple. Baaaaah

The city of Chicago warrants being under martial law without a NATO summit. Why protect members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization but not law abiding citizens of Chicago?

As “blue” as Chicago is, I believe that the majority of its citizens is law abiding - arm them and Chicago’s violent crime rate would be greatly reduced but instead of that reasonable solution, it continues to be a felony in Illinois to even think about guns.

What,
Heavily armed “security” Bozos running around Chicago?
As opposed to armed Bozo gangs running around Chicago?
What can go wrong here?
