Interesting information. It is sad to say, but I think it is prudent for the authorities to be thinking of these “worst case” scenarios and preparing for them. Release of a nuclear, chemical, or bio weapon would be made even worse if the folks affected were able to leave.

And if the feds are trying to prepare, we as individuals should prepare as well.

And I doubt it is the case, but we should also be prepared if they close the gates without an attack.

The reality of this episode is that somebody was stupid enough to host the NATO conference in Chicago, a town with exploding violence, just after the 1 year anniversary of bin Laden getting wacked, at the beginning of Occupy season.

No matter what, it is going to be a mess, even if terrorists don't show. I would expect, at best, something to rival the Seattle WTO conference.
