Chuck Todd: Republicans 'Overreacting' To Obama's Osama Football Spike
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/30/2012 7:42:38 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Classic MSM jujitsu. Chuck Todd has attempted to turn the issue of President Obama's unseemly spiking of the football on the anniversary of the killing of Osama Bin Laden into an attack on Republicans for reacting to Obama's politicization of the event.

On his MSNBC show The Daily Rundown, Todd began his discussion of the matter this morning by asking the Washington Post's Dan Balz whether he was surprised by how "aggressive" the Romney campaign has been on the matter. A bit later Todd suggested to Clarence Page that Republicans were "overreacting" to Obama's boasts. Right. Romney should run a passive campaign, like, say John McCain did! Good-loser Republicans: yeah, that's the MSM ticket!

OBL is dead. Republicans should praise the military and the SEALs who killed him then STFU. Anything after that is politically foolish.

Why does anyone pay attention to Chuck Todd? Everyone knows that he’s just a shill for Democrats. I mean really, why pay attention to this guy, he just another Stephanopoulos.

Didn't Obama take some time to decide that, yes, we could go ahead and get Bin Laden? I mean, it should have been a no-brainer, since we'd been hunting him for nearly a decade.

I can't imagine any President not saying "yes" to getting Osama.

They do. The president takes all the credit for himself. Pointing that out is great politics. Obama is trying to run on this as a reason to reelect him. You think they shouldn’t counter that argument?

One of Kimmel's lines Saturday night got laughs from the crowd, some of them undoubtedly of the nervous type:

Kimmel: "So I see that in reacting to the success of FoxNews, MSNBC has moved more to the left...the left of Cesar Chavez."

Bada-BING.

Arianna Huffington: President's bin Laden ad "despicable"

"I don't think there should be an ad about that," Huffington said Monday on "CBS This Morning." "I think it's one thing to celebrate the fact that they did such a great job (with television specials). All that is perfectly legitimate. But to turn it into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do."

Todd worked for the 1992 presidential campaign of Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa)

Kristian Denny Todd (wife) is a seasoned communications professional and a veteran of numerous successful Democratic campaigns. She recently served as Senior Communications Strategist to U.S. Senator Jim Webb’s 2006.

I can't imagine any President not saying "yes" to getting Osama.

I can imagine Clinton & Carter waffling as much on this as 0dumb0! GW Bush hopefully would not have waffled but I am sure that GHW Bush (Sr) would have waffled. Truth be known, I think that only Reagan would not have wasted any time waffling on this no-brainer decision of the past 6 presidents.

Remember the false outrage from the media and damocrats when the “Mission Accomplished” sign appeared on the carrier when Bush visited? The damocrats were so worried that Bush could use that video for political gain, which he didn’t, and they demanded that it not be used. That is until the war continued and the damocrats thought they could use it against Bush. Interesting how you don’t hear the same comments from the media now against Obama who is actually using an event for political gain. Scumb, pure scumb.

Upchuck desperately needs to take some acting lessons because he’s so in the tank for Hussein that it’s all over his face. Seriously, he’s one of the biggest jokes on their staff and no one in their right mind could take him seriously.
