I must say I met Matthews once and he’s actually a pretty good guy. His politics is absurd, but if you don’t talk politics he’s not half bad.
Socialists and Communists are not 'pretty good guys'.
They may be personable, but they are not good. And personable doesn't count for jack.
When I first saw Matthews on TV his politics were not nearly so absurd as now, in fact he often actually made sense! Rush Limbaugh actually said back then that Matthews was one of the few who “usually gets it right”. Things have really changed.
