NEW YORK (AP) -- Authorities say a van plunged off a roadway near the Bronx Zoo in New York City, killing seven people, including three children.

I sometimes wish information such as this was not instantly known....
How many people bolted upright watching TV thinking someone who has van traveling in that area was the one that went over ....
Four adults and three kids died in the crash, all of whom were in the van.
RIP.
I know there’s no connection but every time I read stories like this I can’t help but think of “Aunt Diane” who drank the equivalent of 10 shots of vodka and smoked pot in a strange suicide mission, killing herself, her daughter, 3 nieces, and 3 men in the oncoming car on a Long Island expressway. The story will always haunt me.
I swear, when I first saw this headline, I thought it said “Van Jones plunges off NYC road near zoo, killing 7.”
I had to do a double-take.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced today that beginning next week, New York Police will be enforcing his new policy of prohibiting vans with occupants between the ages of 30 and 84 from driving within 2 miles of the Bronx Zoo.
