In the 1970s a TV drama (the Bold Ones?) depicted an affirmative action physician tracked into a specialty beyond his competence. The script posited that he could have succeeded in something other than neurosurgery. (You couldn’t air such a script today. Sharpton would come down hard on Hollywood.) Help folks succeed to their abilities and let them study and work where that leads and then let them thrive.

“Help folks succeed to their abilities and let them study and work where that leads and then let them thrive.”

That’s absolutely right; today any police or firefighter test that expects the applicant to be literate is deemed “racist”. Whites applying for these positions are told they chould learn Spanish because an increasing number of residents don’t speak English, while black applicants aren’t expected to have fluency in basic English skills. Absolutely bizarre; I have no hope for this country as long as anti-white discrimination is legal and official policy. Any white guy with a half-decent job is targeted by their employer to see how they can get any of the “preferred” groups into that position.

Frankly, it makes me not give a damn about anyone who doesn’t look like me; now I know how the “preferred” groups live and feel.
