Did Newt have a chance? No. So don’t give me that noise.

If he would have pulled out when it was clear he couldn’t win, and he had thrown his support behind Santorum, the momentum may have made it possible for Santorum to beat Romney.

No Newt couldn’t do that. He was in it until the end.

Did he help the party? No. We wind up with Romney, just like many of us said we would, when we urged Newt to pull out.

He refused and said he’d run all the way to the Convention. We laughed. We knew it was over. Only Newt refused to face reality.

Now what a fine mess we have.

Couldn’t your logic be switched, if Santorum had thrown his support to Newt last night’s results may have different?

For goodness’ sake, these candidates make decisions that are right for them based on the information they have at the time. Santorum did not want to endorse anyone last week. I believe it was to get the result in PA that he got last night-—even without actively campaigning he came in second. Know what? Even though I am a Newt supporter, I say, good for him. You play with the cards you’re dealt.

Please stop harping on Newt. Realistically, none of these people had a chance a year ago. Instead, look at what they’ve accomplished. The social conservative message was highlighted thanks the Rick. Energy issues are front and center thanks to Gingrich. Even whacky Paul has brought debt and the Federal reserve to the table. Without these guys Romney would have been blathering his mush speech after speech.
