Looks like this whole prosecution is to give the FL political class cover. If the preliminary ruling finds Zimmerman shot Treyvon in self-defense or a jury finds him not guilty Gov. Scott and this prosecutor can say hey we tried him so don’t blame us.

Years from now, people will look back at us and be amazed as the general level of ignorance. It will be quite a lot like asking a German in 1946 -- "You're claiming that you knew nothing about the holocaust?? How could you NOT know??"
Obama's birth certificate, fast and furious, the false economic data, the blatant racial politics of the Zimmerman case ... We're living in 1943 Germany and a good number of voters are smiling and laughing and saying that we're lucky to have such a benevolent leader.
But although it may be 1943 today, it will eventually be 1946, and when people of the future ask "How could you NOT know?" they will be harsh and judgmental of America 2012.
This whole Zimmerman/Martin fiasco is a farce. It’s not about somebody getting shot. It’s about politics, race pimps, money and gun control. Anyone who believes otherwise is a freakin’ idiot.

- those words actually came out during an ABC broadcast? Maybe ABC should start thinking about that concept!

I’m willing to wait before I declare someone guilty in case there is any good motive of which we are not aware.
In this case, the prosecutor may be giving Zimmerman the best cover from a DOJ prosecution on trumped up civil rights charges. Even having these state charges in place may provide George some time before the Federal legal harassment starts.
I suspect Federal charges of some type would have already been filed if Florida had not acted.

How long ago did ABC acquire the new photo of Zimmerman’s head? How close in time was it to their expose that Zimmerman had no injuries that blew up in their face? I suspect they’ve had it for quite a while. How did they obtain the photo?
Did the prosecution have the photo? If not why not? Did they provide it to the defense? If not why not?
I wonder how long ABC had these photo’s and simply kept them under wraps?
Looks like I’m going to scrap my endearing nickname of ‘Douchewitz’ back to ‘Dershowitz’. He’s being totally objective and completely nails it! I’ll never forget his ‘O.J.’ antics, however.

Zimmerman’s practical choices might well be to plead to Manslaughter or federal trial and conviction of civil rights charges. The DOJ is watching and ready to “rectify” any error on the part of a state court. Trial and acquittal in Florida will get Z arrested and tried by the Feds who will get whatever Decision they want.
