Ann Dunham Soetoro, PhD, was an applied anthropologist who used her academic training from the University of Hawai‘i to better understand the culture, political system and values that underpinned the struggles – and successes – of the rural poor in Southeast Asia.

Soetoro’s research and consulting work took her around the world. She became a consultant for the U.S. Agency for International Development on setting up village credit programs, then a Ford Foundation program officer in Jakarta championing women’s issues. She later served in Pakistan as a consultant to the Asian Development Bank focusing on women’s welfare. In 1988, she joined Bank Rakyat Indonesia and helped develop the world’s largest sustainable microfinance program. Credit and savings services enabled poor people from rural areas to engage in cottage industries and emerge from poverty. As a pioneer in the field of microfinance, her anthropological research helped shape the bank's policies.

My response to their email to me:

Ann Dunham Soetoro? That's a magnificent joke! Bravo! What about Barack as a true Presidential Scholar from Punahou? While we're at it, let's consider Frank Marshall Davis, who has had such a weighty impact on the family. Your award will surely be venerated! Maybe you can have Comrade Van Jones return to Honolulu to bestow the award. But what will this ceremony be without the ghostwriter of Barack's award-winning, best-selling books: Bill Ayers? If you're serving cocktails at this fete, just keep the Molotov ones away from Old Bill (haw-haw!) And Bernadine should not be left at home, should she? Can't she and the UPW organize a little head bashing during the ceremony? You know, the old "We are the 99%!" It should be a great time!

I see she was attuned to the grifter life style...going from one grant to another from one monied lib sponsor to another. I guess this is part of Barry’s upbringing too along with the dog diet.

“natural born citizen” means something more than just where you were born, it was designed to ensure those following the first President would be imbued with the US culture and experience. How much liberty do they have in Indonesia and Pakistan? Answer that one and you easily see why this blight in the oval office needs to be sent packing this November. First casualty of that will probably be BO when he is served up for dinner some night after the election.

Uh oh. Time to start handing out awards again since it is election season. Barry is probably up next for Humanitarian of the Year. Nobel will be small potatoes compared to all the ones awaiting him in the next few months.
