I read posts by otherwise sane seeming people who say ‘there are worse things than losing elections.’

What would that be? A pointless stand that nobody will remember and that won’t even be a ripple in history while a known tyrant who’s already announced he will be more free in a second term to ruin this country gets another term?

I would rather win this election and eject Obama from our White House in January, but not at the cost of replacing him with a fellow traveler who will do nothing to slow or alter the ruling class agenda.

There's still a slim chance that we can somehow get the real conservative over the finish line, but the pressure, inertia, and momentum of the ruling class' intent to push the liberal candidate forward may be unstoppable.

Therein lies the predicament for people of good character and conscience. We're being presented with a choice between two candidates that, underneath the hood, bear a striking resemblance to one another. What real choice is that?

Every one of us will react to this predicament in some way. How one reacts says everything about their character.

Some will insist that candidate R is better than candidate O, while refusing to honestly examine his record (which strongly indicates otherwise). That's like a girl who pretends she doesn't see her boyfriend's hand on her girlfriend's leg. In other words, they're too afraid to look, for fear of what they'll find. It's just easier to pretend that he's got a decent bone somewhere in his body, and that you'll be able to 'change' his ways.

Some will look at our choices and conclude that the ruling class is going to push their agenda through, no matter what we do through the civil mechanisms of politics. Those folks correctly see that Romney and Obama work for the same masters, and understand that we're being played like pawns in a very large and evil game.

I'm in the former group.

I'm one of those who recognize that we are now realistically at the point where the solemn compacts that have bound us together as a people, have been crushed under the boot heel of a small, yet incredibly determined leftist movement that has been slowly overthrowing our constitutional form of government for nearly a century.

The 'system' is broken. If people look at this election and don't see that we're being manipulated like herd animals, then they're more blinkered than I thought.

We're being led to the slaughter. Some will go willingly under the illusion that they're making a survival choice. Others who can see what's happening, will refuse to be culled, and will defiantly stand their ground.

A paradigm shift in reality is in order here for many of my fellow conservatives. That's going to require that they squarely face what's really happening here, and realize what their real choices are.

Windflier, I can see you’re sincere and you’ve never been nasty. I appreciate that.

But I cannot agree with you.

Sorry.
