Try to keep up. LOL Santorum is no longer a candidate. Neither is my candidate Rick Perry, but at least I got to vote for Rick Perry in the Primary.
The point is that we want as many of our delegates in the hall as possible, for the following reasons:
We need to keep a strong conservative presence to keep Romney from following his instinct and going left, as McCain did. That lost the election.
We want to have a strong conservative presence to help get a conservative VP selected.
We want to have as many conservatives as possible voting on the platform.
You have Senate and House primaries, as well as local races. Since you’re showing up to vote for those anyway, why not vote for the candidate you really wanted? It can’t hurt, and it might help (for the reasons stated above.)
Besides, if we manage to pull off that minimal prospect of denying 1,144, it’s a whole new ballgame.
