Bethlehem Governor Bans Israeli Imports

The governor of Bethlehem signed an order, on Sunday, banning the entry of Israeli agricultural products into the city, effective from May 1, Ma’an News Agency reported.

Abdul-Fattah Hamayil gave orders to security services to enforce the ban and monitor all agricultural imports.

Hamayil has also sought to ensure PA produce is not brought into the 47-year-old St. George Landmark Hotel in eastern Jerusalem.

The decision follows the ban on Israeli-grown watermelons, onions, strawberries and potatoes implemented by PA Minister of Agriculture Ahmad Majdalani earlier this month, a press statement said.

The ban, only the latest in a series of bans on Israeli goods in PA-administered enclaves, this time also seeks to impact businesses in Israel's capital of Jerusalem

Bethlehem in the present day is nothing more than a suburb of Jerusalem, easily accessible from Gilo. Hamayil is nothing more than a tin-horn liliputian nitwit. Kindest thing to do to the residents of Bethlehem, both Christian and Muslim, is to simply annex it to Jerusalem and declare it open to all. Now he wants to ban Israeli produce? Lots of luck with that, Hamayil...your excellency the...haha...governor.

Yeah, and water and sewer services, too. A proud Palestinian should dig his own well and use a squat bucket and empty it in a ditch. That way he can truly claim that he doesn’t give a s@#$ about Israel.
