Nice. As an active duty Marine, I believe the R will be less harmful to our republic. I count myself very conservative, but have enough sense to stay away from “scorched earth” strategies. I am hoping for Newt, but will support R if I have to.

Since I live in Texas, I am lucky and can vote anyway I like since I know The GOP candidate will carry Texas. But personally I think 4 more years of Obama is the worst possible out come. If it looks close in Texas I will vote for the GOP nominee, if not I’ll vote of the most conservative candidate I can find at the top and GOP down ticket.

Nice. As an active duty Marine,
Which is totally irrelevant to this discussion, your vote isn't any more valuable than anyone else's.
I believe the R will be less harmful to our republic.
Oh really? When both political parties are wholly dedicated to expanding the already oversized federal behemoth? When both 'Rats and 'RINOs are committed only to preserving their own political power?
Give ... your ... jarhead ... a ... shake.

Funny, a scorched earth strategy is exactly what the GOP has all but completed so far as driving out any possible conservative candidates from the primary and nomination process.
I am hoping for Newt, but will support R if I have to.
It doesn't matter if your left appendages or your right appendages get amputated, you're still gonna lose an arm and a leg. Think about it.
