Bachmann Steps Closer To Endorsing Romney Jamie Novogrod
Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday morning, Rep. Michele Bachmann said she is seriously looking into endorsing presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The remarks are the closest the former GOP presidential candidate and Minnesota congresswoman has come to making an endorsement since dropping out of the race on Jan. 4.
Citing the decision by Romneys chief rival former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum to suspend his campaign last Tuesday, Bachmann said there is a uniting and pulling together around our eventual nominee. I have said that I want my voice to be one of uniting our party, the independents, the main stream, the conservatives, evangelicals, the tea party movement, Bachmann continued, adding, Im waiting for our party to come together and help in that process.

Obama could have played with Santo like a cat with a mouse..
He is going to wear Romney like Crown..
Newt would have dropped him like Lion after a Wildebeest..
So true!!!
This is why she got dead last in Iowa. We saw through the phony.
Simply because she may now endorse Romney doesn’t make her any more a phony that it would Gingrich in saying he’d support and work his heart out for Romney if he became the party’s nominee. Obama MUST be defeated lest we have a SCOTUS and a federal judiciary that will change this nation forever.
Yup, I think she was the most conservative candidate. Unfortunately, she was not perceived as presidential. I think when she started screeching about the HPV stuff she effectively ended any chance she had of being competitive.
“””Sit it out? So that we get Obama, a left-wing SCOTUS and federal judiciary that will change this nation forever. Alinksky couldnt ask for more.””””
Like the liberal, gay marriage, gun grabbing mitt would be any better?
Yes it would be the same. As is any traitor who supports Romney.
Is there some point to This?
Can it please stop?
Mitt Romney is the nominee. There is no chance in the known universe that anyone else can come in.
Yet I see post after post holding a magnifying glass up to his faults.
What is the point?
The truth is there was never a consensus choice on Free Republic, except maybe for that embarrassing Herman Cain episode.
Even if Sarah Palin had run, her detractors would have been out in droves.
The best candidate (Rick Perry) received brutal treatment here.
After that the forces aligned either for or against Newt and Santorum.
There is no candidate who would satisfy some of the people on this forum.
And now we want to attack the guy who finally took it??
I think this is really, really stupid and unproductive.
Mitt is saying the right things. If he does them, he will be fine. If he does half of them, he will be a million times better than Obama.
What are we obsessed with destroying our candidate and electing Obama?
Pipe dreams of ‘showing the rinos’... hitting bottom so we can prove to people where the bottom is?
We’re better than that. We’re smarter than that.
If you want a conservative start in January to look for one for 2016.
Good grief! So we give Obama a free ride. Gingrich, Santorum, Bachman, Perry, Cain, all become overnight traitors in your book if they support Romney over Obama. That’s looney
Well said. We can’t afford to leave our senses at home and sit this election out. No way. Obama has to go.
Who says any of the conservatives are going to die or retire any time soon. They know whats at stake here. You think romneys picks would be any better? The majority here on FR sure as hell dont.
Yes, Romney picks to SCOTUS wold be far better! He did say during the debates that anyone like Scalia, Thomas or Alito or Roberts would be his choice.
[ Yet I see post after post holding a magnifying glass up to his faults. / What is the point? ]
The point is the degradation continues..
Seems republicans do not want a conservative..
Not every republican just most of them..
Many republicans are asking themselves.. Am I a republican?..
Thats the point.. many ARE NOT.. (anymore)..
They are being used like clowns at a Donkey Rodeo..
To Distract the seditious treasonous Bull from the transvestite Rino being elected..
MAny are getting ready to throw the red nose and funny wig into the waste basket..
Democrats and RINOs laughing at them is getting exposed..
For they are laughing AT THEM.. not what they are doing..
Thats what its about grasshopper..
Wow, are you really that gullible? His RECORD says otherwise.
So you prefer Obama’s record? Sotomayor; Kagan?
Ha,go check the flaming liberals romney picked for the mass. supreme court. Not a dimes bit of difference in fact right on par for liberals.Try again please.
I’m sick and tired of the kabuki theater of “endorsments”. The only thing the “endorsers” can bring to a candidate is their personal vote, NOTHING more.
She’s free to vote for whomever she wants, but no one owns My vote, or yours or anybody else’s.
So far in the primaries, Romney got only 41% of the votes expressed and 573 delegates, meaning that he still has a huge majority of Republican votes against him and half of the needed delegates to win the nomination. The primaries are not over.
As long as NEWT is in, I’m in. I’m not giving up a Reaganite Conservative for a Massachusetts “moderate liberal and progressive for whom “R” stands for Reformer” - Mitt’s own words.
Name one conservative he named to the courts in Massachusetts.
Reading down through the thread I'd put you high on any list of those most likely to ride the lightning soon around here.
Calling those who refuse to use their sacred franchise to support the most liberal governor in the history of the republic crazy is the FR equivalent of standing in wet steel-toed boots in a mud puddle in the middle of a cow pasture as a thunder storm rumbles through.
During the debates Romney said he’ll pick nominees like Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, or Alito? You won’t get Obama saying that, will you? Why else do you think that Gingrich said he’ll work hard to get Romney elected if he becomes the nominee? Is Gingrich out of his mind too? I guess folks like you would rather sit this election out, and give Obama the chance to alter this country for good long after he has left office. That’s a risk many conservative Republicans will not take.
