I wonder if the elephant-sympathizers have any clue that much of the $50k to cull one elephant goes to fund anti-poaching efforts that protect far more creatures, and a healthy population.
Elephants aren’t endangered, any more than white-tailed deer.
And they can be pests that need to be manged and culled.

I've visited Botswana ... stayed in one of the most upscale game lodges in that country. The game tours were spectacular ... you were within a few yards of prides of lions, Cape buffalo, giraffes, elephants, etc., etc.. Killing an elephant is a no brainer ... if this story is true this Spanish POS needs to die a slow agonizing death ... we were, no exaggeration, sitting in Land Rovers within touching distance of elephants ... they surrounded our vehicle.
