If anyone here is knowledgable about such things I’d love to talk to you.

I don't know first hand but I had a friend who tried it about 20 years ago with 3 beef cattle. He said it was a royal pain in the a$$ and after that he was going to the store to buy his beef like everybody else.

My friend also held down a full time job and said if he were retired it would be different.

Yes, I don’t have 2-3 acres of grass to feed them naturally, well I do but it’s currently wooded. Hay around here looks to be around $5 a bale and they can tackle at least one a day. That’s considerable money. This is supposed to save me money but will it?

If I can clear two acres and grow grass for one and stagger them, only then would it really make sense. Buying hay inhales with great velocity...
