The plan to build the California bullet train is almost certain to be approved Thursday by the state's high-speed rail authority at a board meeting in San Francisco, but the project is facing a less certain future in Sacramento.
The rail authority has long insisted that it needs to move as quickly as possible, starting construction on an initial $6-billion segment of track through the Central Valley this year to meet the terms of a federal grant that covers more than half of the initial project.
But that push by the authority, labor unions and the Brown administration for quick action is running into some obstacles.
Sen. Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) has been arguing for weeks that it is impractical for the rail authority to think the Senate could hold hearings and approve the $68-billion rail system the biggest infrastructure project in state history in a couple of months.

That means it's a done deal.
With Jerry Browns plan to pay for the train with Californias version of Cap and Tax, it will be impossible to kill the Cap and Tax plan in the future.
Californias Cap and Tax plan plus the EPAs Cap and Tax plan will kill all industry in the state.
This $120 billion project will make Massachusetts Big Dig of $15 billion look like childs play.
Mexifornia is toast.
Any business that has stated plans to remain there should have their CEO and associated idiots fired.
We should round up all libs, ship them to the doomed state, build a wall, and watch the famine and subsequent collapse.
Lyle Lanley (episode 71, The Simpsons) must be pushing it.

You know what is really weird? I knew all that useless information (cant help it, The Simpsons are the best thing on TV).
This is NOT a "Bullet Train" at all and will not even travel at 100mph at anytime in the future. It's a farce and a fraud from beginning to end.
The train really isn’t meant to move people anyway.
It’s designed to move taxpayer money to China, with some blow back for Schwarzenegger and Brown for their ‘investments’ in Chinese companies.
