As I said on another earlier thread ...

This could actually be the best way for the whole case to unfold from Zimmerman's perspective. The prosecutor shuts up "the community" by filing a murder charge, yet knows full well that it's nearly impossible to get a conviction and Zimmerman will ultimately walk.

If I were Zimmerman, I would have been far more fearful of a manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide charge ... because it would have been much easier to get a conviction on one of those.

Postponing the riots, in other words. Intimidating the jurors as well.

I expected manslaughter. 2nd degree murder is much harder to prove.

Still, should give the situation some time to calm down.
