I will vote for him in the Pa. primary, even if not running. It may be my last time as a Republican. I know we have closed primaries here but I’m sick and tired of the Pa. GOP telling me who to vote for. They did it with Pat Toomey and they are doing it again with Welch over Rohrer. And the national level sucks even more. I’m disgusted and fed up.

I know the feeling, Sue. Whether at the state or federal level, the establishment should button its yap and let people judge the candidates for themselves.

Of course, in an ideal world, neither endorsements nor party affiliation would mean a whit because voters would know that they’re not reliable indicators of a candidate’s worth. An uninformed, easily swayed electorate is the consequence of our party-line mentality.

Can you imagine what would happen if we banned party affiliation from ballots? People might *gasp* actually have to think about who they’re voting for.
