Some years ago I was stationed at a large embassy in South America. One of the staff members was an openly gay male State Department secretary. As such, he had access to highly classified information. He lived in a high rise apartment in a very nice area of the city. The KGB learned of his proclivities and recruited a gay Soviet to move into the building and attempt to recruit this American. Fortunately, their intentions were made clear, and the male secretary was transferred back to Washington forthwith. This guy was a real party animal and was very popular with the rest of the staff, especially the Marine Detachment.
