In 2006 Californias Senate Bill 107 codified a requirement that by 2010 all electricity retailers in the state were to procure 20% of their electricity from renewables. That same year L.A. County Supervisor Michael Antonovich established Nuisance Abatement Teams that started combing the Mojave desert hitting isolated residents with ever-expanding lists of code violations, imposing whatever it took to drive residents out, and they made their intentions perfectly clear . . .
. . . Apparently it is not enough that our green crony capitalists are getting billions in taxpayer subsidies, or that that rate-payers are forced to buy their renewable energy at extra-high prices. They also need their pet politicians to steal the land for them. . .
Bump
The economics of Henry George rear their ugly head.
It also reminds me of the Constitutional reasoning of the Kelo Court. That was the case where the court said the City of New London, CT, could seize the land of a resident and give it to a private developer to achieve a “higher and better use.”
Perhaps some day we can meet to discuss the economic and Constitutional issues raised by this government tactic. Maybe we can even have lunch in that “higher and better” development New London was allowed to create by trampling the rights of private land owners.
Well, maybe not:
FROM THE WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE ON KELO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelo_v._City_of_New_London): “The city eventually agreed to move Susette Kelo’s house to a new location and to pay substantial additional compensation to other homeowners. The redeveloper was unable to obtain financing and abandoned the redevelopment project, leaving the land as an empty lot, which was eventually turned into a dump by the city.”

Why do I suspect something similar will happen here when the money for subsidies runs out and the taxpayers of California finally get tired of paying outrageous power bills just to feel better about their “carbon footprint?”
Democrats - Thieves, Thugs, Thralls and Thickheads
If you vote Democrat, you’re one of the above.
We are being lulled into believing that the people we elected are there to protect us. These politicians have found a way to get around that. The created all of these alphabet govt agencies to do their dirty work for them. Now, the politicians can’t be blamed for the stupid laws. These unelected bureaucrats are making the laws, without congressional oversight, and they have police powers to go along with the laws. And, since these unelected bureaucrats are all above the law, they can choose which ones they allow and which ones they prevent from getting a business started. Just remember, all those inventions that our people created at the turn of the 20th century would not be allowed to be established today. Because of these unelected bureaucrats that have made the laws, for all of us to obey. How about electing people that will do away with 3/4 of all these alphabet govt agencies?
The elections in California have been corrupted. The predatory officials will not give up their game easily. How does one deal with a predator that lives outside the law but under color of law?

The taxpayers will be so busy running in that "keep my job" squirrel cage to protest, and won't dare. They're surrounded by takers, prisoners in a cell of their own making. I wish I could be more positive, but I just don't see it.
EXACTLY what part of the Mojave Desert is inside Los Angeles County?
I believe it is in San Bernardino county & Kern county & Inyo county & perhaps another.
It is every body’s duty to elect the best possible candidate to run their government. Since it is a duty, then they must be sure that the ones they choose is working for them. Find out everything you can about every politician that is running. Don’t be lulled into the propaganda they spew out. Remember, “ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES”
I conclude you miss my point about the California election process being corrupted. Voters may vote for the best possible candidate, but Stalin counts the ballots.
The county line is about due north from Mountain High, roughly 5 miles east of Lago Vista is where San Berdo county starts. Basically the western 10% is in LA County .
