When Kenneth Warden was diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer, his hospital consultant sent him home to die, ruling that at 78 he was too old to treat.

Even the palliative surgery or chemotherapy that could have eased his distressing symptoms were declared off-limits because of his age.

His distraught daughter Michele Halligan accepted the sad prognosis but was determined her father would spend his last months in comfort. So she paid for him to seen privately by a second doctor to discover what could be done to ease his symptoms.

Thanks to her tenacity, Kenneth got the drugs and surgery he needed — and as a result his cancer was actually cured. Four years on, he is a sprightly 82-year-old who works out at the gym, drives a sports car and competes in a rowing team.

‘You could call his recovery amazing,’ says Michele, 51. ‘It is certainly a gift. But the fact is that he was written off because of his age. He was left to suffer so much, and so unnecessarily.’

Government run medicine is just simply evil.

Capitalist-based medicine isn’t perfect (and while libs seriously downplay govt medicine’s flaws, they magnify free market medicine’s fewer smaller flaws), but it is far more self-correcting and gives people so many more options than if you only have ONE option - the government.

If it’s government-only healthcare and they say NO, you are screwed. With capitalist medicine systems, you have options if one of many says “no”.

Under Obamacare, this type of behavior would be illegal. The daughter and the doctor would be arrested and thrown in jail because if you do not accept the Gov’s decision, there is no recourse in Obamacare.

The death panels are already in place. If you go elsewhere or attempt to do other than what the HHS decrees you to do, you are breaking the law. The doctor would be breaking the law by following his/her conscience and the daughter would be breaking the law for loving her parents enough to get another opinion and treatment based on it.

A friend of mine, an Obama worshipper, doesn’t believe this could happen here. She’s 65 and so far, in good health. I told her to pray she will never have a catastrophic illness or else she will be too old for treatment.

So many of the true believers think Obamacare will be a blessing. They have no idea of the evil that will be wrought if Obamacare is allowed to move forward.

So, it wasn't really "terminal" until the system decided that the lack of treatment would surely kill him....They will use words like "terminal" and "too old" to justify not rendering medical treatment - that's why their called Death Panels - they manufacture excuses to let someone die, and probably get a bonus for each one....
