HELENA, Mont. - "Three Cups of Tea" author Greg Mortenson will remain the face of the charity the Minnesota native co-founded, despite his having to repay $1 million after an investigative report released Thursday concluded he mismanaged the organization and misspent its money. Never heard of it....I have heard of 2 girls- one cup, though.
I finally read it and red flags went up for me.
The books was too "sexy" IMO...a good read but TOO good a read, especially in the first half.
I just felt that a person who had a past with such a bohemian lifestyle could never be the great do-gooder he was claiming to be. He rose too fast...his past patterns in life called for trouble.
Also, I didn't like the way he treated US officials (particularly Rumsfeld) in the book. True, the Taliban came in for extreme criticism, but he gave the US no credit when they did de-throne the Taliban and made inanely made fun of Rumsfeld's shiny shoes which was queer. Then it turns out Mortenson outright lied about stuff like being in Calcutta when Mother Theresa died. Something about the whole thing just didn't click.
He’s writing another book
THREE SUITCASES FULL OF LOOT
Joe Biden has reserved a dozen copies.
Makes ya wonder what a fella has to do to get fired at that organization.

Despite the fact that the guy is a discredited con artist, he’s our con artist and the punters will still line up to see him and pay (read donate) for the privilege so we are not canning him - yet.
IMHO, most “non-profits” are leftist scams to further a leftist ideaolgy via gaining tax exempt status while also enriching said leftists.
LOL.
but Joe needs the audiobook version.
The book “Three Cups of Deceit” exposes this.
