I find this hard to believe. My final few (of 17) years at Texas Instruments were spent in the Military High Reliability Components department. Everything we shipped was built, tested, screened, and qualified to full Mil-spec standards. Don't tell me the US military has stopped insisting on Mil-spec parts...

This story smells...

Bad news - the US stopped insisting on mil-spec a long time ago. There’s PowerPC’s and other things in them thar weapon systems these days. Heaven only knows where they all come from.
