Romney: Earth is Warming, Can't Prove it, But We Need to Limit Emissions (Jun 06, 2011)

"I believe the world is getting warmer. I can't prove that." -Romney

Obviously GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney didn't get the White House 32 page long slide show memo explaining that the new correct term to describe big government environmental power grabs surrounding global warming and climate change, is global climate disruption.

Global warming” is a (dangerous) misnomer

We should call it “global climate disruption.

Video: Mitt Romney: Man-Made Global Warming Is Real

Romney has an alarming habit of using big government to solve problems. We saw this with RomneyCare and now with global climate disruption regulation based on junk science and liberal hysteria. Romney tries to make the distinction between state and federal government regulation and mandates, however, Romney was a big government guy at the state level, where limited government should thrive. He won't be any different at the federal level. The Environmental Protection Agency is one of the, if not the most, out of control government bureaucracy we have limiting Americans' right to free economic choice at every turn, we don't need even more regulation from the EPA and we don't need GOP candidates, or any politicians, giving the agency even more unelected, unchecked power.

This jackwagon’s gonna be the Republican nominee! My head will explode daily after they call him “Candidate Romney.”

We need to start a Constitution Party.

I’m pretty certain Sarah Palin has stated that the earth is warming. Check it out.

Yes she did, but she didn’t implement a Cap-and-Trade and she didn’t blame mankind like Romney did, and she changed her position real quick. Futhermore, she rarely changes her positions.

Your boy Romney, on the other hand, his changes in policy and issue positions are legion, and then add in the fact he is constantly lying about his positions, and as usual, the attempt to falsely compare Sarah Palin to the latest lying, left-wing, Progressive Liberal and provide him cover, falls apart.

She probably did say that and she probably referenced the cycles the earth goes through.

From Wikipedia: Please note that Sarah called warming a “global challenge” and sought to reduce greenhouse emissions by promoting alternative energy sources.

“After saying that global warming would affect Alaska more than any other state, Palin added: “I’m not one...who would attribute it to being man-made.”[130] But she has not completely ruled it out: “Show me where I have ever said that there’s absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change. I have not said that.”[131][132]

On September 14, 2007, Palin signed an administrative order creating a Climate Change Sub-Cabinet charged with preparing a climate change strategy for Alaska.[133] Palin ignored requests to establish an Alaska Office on Climate Change, an Alaska Climate Response Fund, and emissions reduction targets.[134] Within her executive order, Palin described warming as a “global challenge” and sought “opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Alaska sources, including the expanded use of alternative fuels, energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, land use management, and transportation planning.”[135] In April 2009 Palin acknowledged that “Simply waiting for low-carbon-emitting renewable capacity to be large enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals for reducing [carbon dioxide] that will be required under most credible climate-change models.”[136] But in December 2009 she wrote, “any potential benefits of proposed emissions reduction policies are far outweighed by their economic costs.”

If you can't prove it in the first place, how can you know if the trillion dollar remedy will have any effect?

Romney is not a scientist, economist or even a leader. He is a politician first and last.

Please see my second post above. Sarah Palin very clearly sought to reduce “greenhouse gases” and said we can’t just wait for the technologies to develop alternatives through market forces. She also has backtracked from some of that to assume a more conservative position.

Imho both Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin were WRONG to give this greenhouse gas BS the time of day. However, they both did.

In a roundabout way, the article's title reminds me of a t-shirt I purchased for my 18 MO grandson, which says:

I didn't do it.

Nobody saw me do it.

I want to speak to my Grandpa.

ANd yet Sarah was smart enough to backtrack long ago, Mitt, as the finger-in-the-wing driven politician that he is, didn't do it until the third quarter last year.

Furthermore, Mitt implemented the very first cap-and-trade system.

Sorry, but your comparison falls apart right there.

Sarah never came out and firmly stated, as far as I know, that it was man-caused, Mitt was still stating this into the middle of last year.

Whatever the problem is, if there is one, the solution is international socialism.

the earth has warmed in the recent past- howdever, it’s also warmed much worse PRE INDUSTRY and the FACT that the earth didn’t warm this time as much as it did PRE INDUSTRY shoudl tell anyoen with common sense that the uindustrial age is NOT responsible for warming- infact, accordign to the data, it woudl appear that the industrial age, if anything, might have been rersponsible for keepign hte temps a bit coolor than they otherwise might have otherwise- just the opposite of what the ‘man-caused’ global warmign morons are claiming- but even at that I doubt very much that man’s contribition of C02 (which amounts to a scantr .03%) has had ANY effect whatsoever.

There is VERY clear evidence that perioidc solar flares are resppnsible for temperature fluctuations, but the media is silent on this- as well, underground oceanic volcanoes are responsible for the temperature fluctuations in the oceans, but again, we see nothign in the media about htis-

Romney has made it clear that he intends to SCAM tghe US and the World through hte ‘regulation’ of C02- both he and his fellow liberals are desperate to get hteir hands on this scam money so that they can keep spending us into oblivion, while having US the people pay for their extravagant lifestyles and spendign addictions- but hte worst part is the lie that they will be charging us for C02 ‘for our own good’ in order to ‘save the worldf from destruction’ due to ‘our reckless use of fossil fuels’

The earth MAY be warming & various high profile people MAY be saying something to that effect.....

That isn’t the problem, IMO.

The reasons why the earth is warming is the problem.
The sun has been very acive & everything I was always taught was that the sun has the most influence on how temps change, slightly up and down thru the years.

Plants & trees need Carbon Dioxide to live. What will happen when that shortage affects the food supply?

All agreed and my point is before we do the usual all wee wee’d up job on Romney, read Palin’s positions. I would love to see Palin as president.

Romney is going to be the nominee. Time to stop “proving” he is more liberal than Obama. Palin has more than flirted with global warming BS. I know I’ve heard her in the past on tv talking about it.

Politicians. It ought to be 4 letter word. Still I like Palin a lot, and I will be very happy if Romney can get Obama out of office.

You could take Sarah’s quotes and positions as shown above and do quite a job on her position. Do I prefer Palin to Romney as a conservative? You bet I do. Did she run? You bet she didn’t.

Obama has to go. Gingrich’s campaign is done and Santorum ain’t getting there.

Cut it out!

My guy, maybe your guy too, sat on a couch with Nancy Pelosi and made a "Beware of Global Warming" commercial.

If Romney was the Republican nomination, I think A Mormon, not a Muslim! might a campaign slogan this Jew could live with.

You're boy Mitt Romney, can't get the job done.

With his completely left-wing, Progressive Liberal record as Governor, he will get slaughtered by the MSM and Obama.

He's too much like Obama.

He compares much more effectively to Obama than Palin in the following areas:

1. Gay Marriage
2. Gay Adoption
3. Abortion
4. TARP
5. Amnesty for Illegal Aliens
6. RomneyCare
7. Cap and Trade
8. Global Warming
9. Taxes/Fees (hint: he raised them by over 300% while governor).

TO name just a few.

Romney is a dead-man walking and he hasn't even gotten out of the gate.

Once the MSM starts using his own record to completely dampen turnout for Romney, his poll numbers against Obama will plummet and Obama will win in a rout.

The only inevitable about Romney, is that he is the only candidate guaranteed to hand Obama a re-election win.

Oy Vey.(?) I never pictured you as Jewish.

Seriously, you guys wouldn’t vote republican if Mohammed were nominated by the Democrats.

Fact: Mitt Romney does not support the positions you listed. Second fact: If he can’t do it so what, it is over, meaning the election and America.

Time to wake up folks we are one supreme court justice, one new black panther outrage, one pipeline veto, one coal plants shutdown, one backdoor amnesty declaration, one disarmament treaty, one sell out of Israel - From the loss of America.

You haven't been paying much attention, have you! (Look here.)

While many of my people are indeed braindead, I think the next election, IF there is one (big IF, IMHO), will surprise you pleasantly.
