A Pope?? Can you debate without using ad honinem attacks?

Some people think that 50 million unborn children being killed is more important than what the hedge funds next quarterly statement is.

Romney appointed Democrats as 75% of his Judicial nominees while he was governor. That is not a typo, he appointed three times more Democrats than Republicans! Can you say David Souter, John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Anthony Kennedy (all appointed by Republican Presidents)?

By the way, we won in 2010 because the unemployment rate was above 10%.

Santorum is Romney’s main opponent, and has been since February. In your backward logic, this means he is giving Romney the nomination??

Romney has always been the favorite since Palin declined to run and Perry faded. Santorum has had a good run, and he will probably fall short, but he did not give Romney the nomination. How absurd!

Isn’t this stuff just getting kind of silly now? The race is - for all intents and purposes - over so who is the most conservative person among the people that can no longer win is ultimately pointless.

I am looking at the exit polls too. And you are so far off base! The numbers do not match at all.

And I have family members who live in northern Wisconsin, in a county that is extremely poor, extremely rural, and extremely white. Almost everyone at school is on free school lunches because they make so little money. Obama carried it easily in 2008. Santorum won it easily tonight.

Wisconsin outside Madison and Milwaukee is made up of poor, rural, white voters who often vote Democratic. What are you talking about saying there is no such thing as a Reagan Democrat anymore. Maybe you meant to say there is no such thing as a Reagan Democrat who will vote for your candidate, the “good choice,” as you say, Mitt Romney?

Why am I wasting time arguing with you?? Santorum has been winning rural, blue collar, poor whites this whole election. These are almost the very definition of Reagan Democrats. Some Reagan Democrats also work in poor cities like Green Bay, WI, and Toledo, Ohio (Santorum carried both counties).

I answered the Reagan Democrats in another post.

No one cares what Michael Moore says.

“Very conservative” voters have been going to Santorum in almost every state (except the states Newt has won). Romney has been winning the liberal Republicans almost the whole race.

Now you are suddenly upset that liberals and Democrats can vote in GOP primaries. Convenient for Romney before, not so convenient now.

PS. Stop the ad hominem attacks (St. Rick, etc.) Debate issues, instead of calling people names.

I liked your post like others have too! I am not sure if I will vote for Romney. Romney will be the nominee 4 years from now if he is the sitting President. And Romney has a record of appointing Democrats to judicial nominees. Roe v Wade may stick around for another generation if Romney appoints liberals to the Supreme Court for 8 more years.

The only reason I am even considering voting for Romney in the general election in November is because his opponent is Barack Obama.

What terrible choices we will have this November!

I can see the Supreme Court overturing ObamaCare, only to see Romney and the GOP RINO establishment passing RomneyCare into federal law. Paul Ryan's "conservative" budget actually gives tax credits to people who have insurance. Sounds a lot like the ObamaCare mandate. They will just have to tax people to pay for the credit. Then bingo, we have RomneyCare instead of ObamaCare.

Not to mention, 8 years of RINOs on the Supreme Court who may very well support gay "rights," Roe v Wade, et cetera. Maybe Romney will appoint conservatives, but it is a crapshoot. His history is appointing liberals to the judicial branch. But maybe he has changed, we have no way to know. And he is supposed to be the best nominee for Republicans?!

Newt Gingrich unveiled a new message to Mitt Romney Monday morning during a campaign stop in Maryland: if the former Massachusetts governor does become the Republican nominee, pick a conservative platform.

But speaking on the eve of three primaries that could potentially seal the Republican nomination in Romney’s favor, Gingrich vowed to only exit the race if a candidate gets the required delegates.

““I will be going to Tampa, Callista and I will both be going to Tampa, because we are going to fight for a conservative platform,“ Gingrich said. “He [Romney] has to win 1,144 uncontested delegates. At that point, the question is going to become, if he wants our support in the general election, let’s talk about the platform and it better be a solid, 21st century conservative platform based on sound principles that we can stick to.”

http://www.nbcwashington.com/blogs/first-read-dmv/Gingrich-to-Romney-Pick-Conservative-Platform-145786965.html

Newt needs to take some pain to Tampa - that’s what he plans to gather up the next 6 months... establishment pain.

Sounds like you don't like Christians.

No, I just don't like sanctimonious little know-it-alls who feel the need to tell me how I ought to live my life. I grew up and left home, so I no longer need anyone treating me like a child. And I sure and he!! don't like total strangers acting that way.

So many of you guys slam Rick because he has faith.

Again, no. I don't slam Rick for his faith. I slam Rick for trying to make it his Raison d'être.

Are you pro-abortion or pro-gay? Is Rick NOT suppose to mention that?

If you are a politician, you need to attract the most voters. The best way to do that and still maintain your core values is to turn those issues back over to the states and refuse to have the Federal government involved. Also, that becomes an added bonus, as you will also show yourself to be against the governmental behemoth we have now.

You don't go about it by spouting off that you want the federal government to make it illegal. For that makes you sound like you want the federal government to usurp a state issue (just like most Democraps).

I assume you don't believe in God, otherwise you would have a heathy fear of Him. Either that, or you are a mormon.

I predicted just this response in post #194. What next... is it time to burn the witch?

Don’t give up and go Romney, people. It looks inevitable but let’s not go down without a fight. Don’t let THEM tell us it’s over. Most of us have not cast a vote yet. Let’s keep going. The team doesn’t head to the lockers just because they are down bad with lots of time yet. Let’s show the country we matter and we don’t. Want. Romney.

Most 'conservative' thing I've heard tonight. Also the most solid piece of advice

You weren’t here last year. The Palin supporters here were rabid dogs going after *ANYONE* that didn’t profess an undying worship at her altar.

If you tried to explain that she hadn’t formed any state campaigns or hadn’t tried to gather any signatures to get on the ballot... you, quite literally, ran the risk of getting banned. And her supporters frequently pings the administrators to do just that.

They were CONVINCED she would run and were *VERY* nasty about the other candidates.

We CANNOT keep doing this. We CANNOT keep Santoruming and Huckabeeing ourselves based on some sick notion of the holiness of a politician. We cannot keep some broke one-percenter in the race because they were able to show well in Iowa after living there for two years and facing almost no attacks because of their low polling. We cannot keep rewarding these guys for throwing Hail Mary passes when we have a chance to defeat the Liberals. No more “shoestring” campaigns, no more one-percenters who surge in time to do well in Iowa, no more long-shot dreams based on the notion that some candidate is the mostest Christianest candidate of them all.

Unfortunately, it's not going to stop. The social conservative is someone that will never accept 'half a loaf'. It's either all or nothing. In that matter, they are just like the Palestinians (failed to get a state of their own for 64 years... cause they won't accept anything less than *EVERYTHING*). So that always means that they go for the candidate that promises everything, aka: the holy roller.

Which blinds them to the alternatives, such as the candidates that go 70-80% of the way, but are more well rounded in the conservative mold.

And as a result, it's always the candidate that isn't going to even offer a 'loaf' that takes it. IE: the moderate candidate.

So many of you guys slam Rick because he has faith.
It's people like you that put a bad name on “Christians” by that statement.

For months and months, we have constantly heard Rick insulted for his beliefs. i am just so tired of it. I can't understand how anyone who calls themselves a Christian uses Christian language to hurt someone.

I went to a Catholic grade and high school but now I am a member of an Evangelical Free Church. So I'm a bad Christian because I'm tired of people using religious terms to insult Rick? Many conservatives are people of strong faith. When you use faith terms to insult a person, you sound like your insulting all Christians, that is what it feels like. Like obama saying we cling to our bibles.

So why do you copy the left and constantly act like that is all Rick talks about? You know it's not or you have not read his speeches. Because someone speaks of their faith does not make them a bad person. So many on the left and those against Rick uses obama tactics. Attack one issue and don't let it go. The left has turned this into a religion thing and your would think conservatives would not fall for it.

I don't know who your candidate is, but if it's Newt, should we constantly talk about his affairs? Newt was not my first choice, but never once have I condemned him for what he said he repented of. The same grace is not given to Rick. I've heard so much dirt thrown at Rick and after studying it, I found it's all from leftist sites. What is true? I'm sure romney would have used anything of truth to attack Rick with. I also saw dirt on Newt and Romney. Should I believe everything I read on the internet?

As a Christian, I take your insults personal. It seems you want to make us Christians hid our beliefs; not talk about them. I answer to God and not anyone else.

I wish I had a nickel for every Santorum supporter that said they’d never vote for Newt because of his personal life. I would have made a small fortune here between the South Carolina and Florida primaries alone!

I'm not arguing that Romney sucks. He does. I hoped against all odds that he wouldn't take it. The only candidates I found worse than Romney were Paul and Santorum.

Paul, as he's way too close with anti-Semites. And Santorum, as he's the Republican antithesis of Reagan; he's like Pat Robertson when he ran.

Unfortunately, social conservatives would not settle to unify all the conservative strands under one candidate. It *HAD* to be their way. Anything else meant you were a G-dless Communist b@st@rd that eats babies.

Well, I'm not one of them. I said I would vote for Newt if Rick dropped out. Over that last several months, a lot of people have been saying nasty things about other candidates. I do have a real problem with romney, and will not vote for him. If you need, I can show you documentation of him lying, cheating, stealing votes, buying votes and endorsements. He had no problem with partial birth abortion an gay marriage. He attacked the boy scouts because they would not allow gay leaders.

If people believe in God, truly believe, don't you think we have crossed the line over and over again? Gay marriage is bad enough, but now we have states that are forcing 5 year olds to learn about gay families and sex. Doesn't that make anyone but me mad? Isn't anyone but me scared about what is next? We have allowed so much evil (note my tagline) to exist in this country and yet we're suppose to pretend it's not happening. We're suppose to go with the flow and don't talk about what is happening to our kids and grandkids. It doesn't matter, only the economy matters. Some people care MORE about their kids and their future than money. What good is money if you lose your kids hearts and souls to the liberals?

CAWW—I'm sorry I was so harsh with you. I just see what is happening to our country-our kids and wonder what life will be like for them if God is pushed out of this country completely, like many think He should not be allowed in the election debate.

Yeah, let’s accept a liberal phony who has tens of millions with which to smear all challengers. Romney would have been out after Florida if he had Santorum’s money. As for your comparing Rick to Robertson, that’s simply nuts. Pat is a kook, and Rick is mainstream. Rick is about 30 IQ points ahead of Pat as well. Bob
