So many of you guys slam Rick because he has faith.

It's people like you that put a bad name on "Christians" by that statement. Ricks "faith" is very much legalistic from all which he has stated in this primary. So on the matter of his faith he adheres to the leadership of the Catholic church. I suppose for Catholics that's a good thing...but is not a positive for me.

Christians often get as twisted in their thinking as liberals do.....we're voting for a President...and they are so caught up in SAntorums righteousness they have failed all along to see his record....and even remotely looked at anything he's accomplished.

So stop peddling the "Faith" of SAntorum.......Romney has faith...Newt has faith.... and many others....it's there track history we look at and Rick is all about social issues...that's it...and not enough to win this election...let alone the General.

"Gosh! Why didn’t I think of just “getting over it?!?” "

The answer is very simple.

Because you advocate on emotion rather than the reality of your options.

The GOP will not now, or ever, nominate Rick Santorum for POTUS.

What now? Stay home? Vote Obama?

Know a good 3rd party?

"Santorum The GOP is over."

No, it's not.

It's just plain silly to think it's so.

The GOP will outlive both you and I.

Thank you, Pennsylvania Mom. Full disclosure-—I’m a Newt supporter. But Romney is the only one I just can’t vote for.

The election will hinge on those debates because 40 million+ will tune in and for many of them it will be the first time they learn about the candidates. If Newt drops out and if Romney has not reached 1144, only then I can reluctantly support Rick.

Exactly.....I too will continue to support Newt...never can tell what he might have up his sleeve he hasn't played yet...so I'm not about ready to back Santorum....and Pa has yet to vote.

Rick will do ok In Western Pa....but in the East he won't do well at all. Some will vote for Rick simply to stop Romney though it looks like that's almost a done deal as well.

Should Romney take this I'm just done with politics...will vote for locals and do a write in for Pres....then it's out for me.

Santorum is over. Time to get over it.

And, if Romney is the nominee, Obama gets four more years. Face that reality and don't whine about it because you helped make it happen by refusing to rally around the Romney alternative.

thank you so much for saying that, so briefly and so clearly. You didn't even mention that approximately 70% of any Santorum speech (the best estimate I can make) is stuff he has stolen and abridged from Newt - and that doesn't seem to bother his conscience or his profession of faith one iota.

A very wise freeper had this to say about what you are stating (really worth the read). It taught me a lot:

It’s Huckabee bullheadedly plowing ahead of Thompson by sheer belief in his own holiness all over again. The story always starts out the same: Conservatives get a credible alternative to the Establishment front-runner, and he starts getting attacked.

Then the SoCon who stayed under the radar (Huckabee then, Santorum now) becomes everyone’s plan B, because the guy who could have won (Thompson, Gingrich) was unloaded upon by the GOP-E money machine. Then the smug supporters of the upstart underdog all thump their chest and say “NO.....YOUR GUY SHOULD DROP OUT!!”

Then the vote is already split, the credible candidate becomes non-credible because of vote-splitting, and the upstart winds-up in second place because folks trying to beat the Establishment liberal switch to plan B because the smug voters of the only holy candidate make it loudly clear that they’re going to support the holy upstart candidate even if it means the Liberals win. It JUST KEEPS HAPPENING.

In reality, what needed to happen was for Santorum to drop out early, when it became apparent that there was someone who could lead Romney in the polls for a long time, and when it was clear he had a friggin’ LITANY of ballot and delegate issues. Even if it was not Newt at the time (heck, replace Newt with Perry), Conservatives should have united around a single candidate with a full organization and little to no ballot and delegate issues, and there SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A PLAN B. Conservative should have been forced to STAY united, learn to DEFEND their candidate rather than defect because the rich, Establishment Liberal was able to smear the credible Conservative with overwhelming cash.

If there had been no Santorum, Newt would be leading right now. He would be leading because we would have been united against Romney from day one, and there would have been no defections based on the fact that - by simply running under the radar - someone else rises because they haven’t been unloaded on.

We CANNOT keep doing this. We CANNOT keep Santoruming and Huckabeeing ourselves based on some sick notion of the holiness of a politician. We cannot keep some broke one-percenter in the race because they were able to show well in Iowa after living there for two years and facing almost no attacks because of their low polling. We cannot keep rewarding these guys for throwing Hail Mary passes when we have a chance to defeat the Liberals. No more “shoestring” campaigns, no more one-percenters who surge in time to do well in Iowa, no more long-shot dreams based on the notion that some candidate is the mostest Christianest candidate of them all.

No more Huckabees, no more Santorums. No more long-shots who surge in Iowa. Rule them out before they ruin another Primary season. Santorum was never going to get 1144 delegates - it was NEVER going to happen. The fact that people bull-headedly refused to waver from him KILLED us - and then they turned around and taunted Newt and Perry voters for voting for Santorum in desperation, citing the vote count as if nobody knows what was actually happening. No more Santorums, no more Huckabees. No more long shots, period. ~ TitansAFC

Santorum is over.

Time to get over it.

Out of the next 5 contests, Santorum will be lucky to win his home state. He may be up 5-10 points there now, but if Romney decides to embarrass Rick there he could pour money in and probably win it. In the meantime, Mitt will win all the rest of the upcoming batch of states easily. There is just no way to twist the math in such a way that Santorum can win. Even on the one chance in a million he and the other candidates can deny Romney the full number of delegates, he'll still be so close that he would inevitable win a floor fight with the result being the same as it is today. Mitt is going to be the nominee. It sucks, he's a piss poor candidate, but it is what it is. We can keep whining out it or make lemonaide from lemons, vote for Romney as the only candidate that could beat Obama, and at least have the possible pleasure of evicting Hussein from the White House.

Please do not give up. We need all good conservatives to keep up the good fight. There will be another election, and more issues to battle for.

Santorum is over. Time to get over it.

Is that based on real numbers or talking points. You're saying that Rick can't keep Mitt out but is that based on the math? There's some pretty big states out there, PA & TX for instance that could surely hurt Romney. He's winning primarily blue states but the whole country isn't blue, in fact most of it's red.

So is it possible for Rick to stop Romney, by the numbers.

Don’t give up and go Romney, people. It looks inevitable but let’s not go down without a fight. Don’t let THEM tell us it’s over. Most of us have not cast a vote yet. Let’s keep going. The team doesn’t head to the lockers just because they are down bad with lots of time yet. Let’s show the country we matter and we don’t. Want. Romney.

This is what happens when conservatives don't put up a compelling alternative most of us can agree on.... I wished it would have been Newt,.... but too many social conservatives wanted to get behind another dead end candidate like Pat Robertson and Mike Huckabee..... Santorum simply isn't a serious alternative and never really had a chance.

Too many Christians aren't voting for a President...they're voting for something else entirely which cannot come until the financial and condition of our country is FIRST brought under hand and the strongholds in Washington cleared out....and that requires a 'Warrior armed and ready' not a cadet still wet behind the ears under his tutelage. They couldn't' and still can't see the difference.......lacking discernment says it well.

Further every time Obama thru the bait Santorum went for it like a kid chasing candy. His judgment was way off and he now pays for that...while Obama smiled proudly at leading Santorum to exactly where he wanted him.

Santorum was there for no other reason then to divert attention away from Newt....the true threat to Obama....and the media readily admits they gave him the go and without he would have fallen along the wayside.... Santorum's ego would not let him see past his own foolish aspirations.....and still don't. He wanted a name for himself above all else...and in which his political career attests to in the past....anything to get to the next level regardless of the collateral damage getting there.

I have no intention of voting for Romney, Bilderberg, Rockefeller...

Let the crash happen and be through already. The sooner it does, the sooner rebuilding can begin. Hopefully this people - myself included - can learn the lesson God is teaching us by kicking our tails and we can realize the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Excuse me, but the anti-Rick Perry posts were the worst ever on this forum.

The worst.

We don’t seem to play well together.

I’m in the Anybody but Obama crowd now and I hope everyone will join me.

We need to stop worrying about Romney and start worrying about the most disastrous president ever.

RE :”I voted for Santorum,..

I didn't even bother. Even if I liked one of the other two it was easily in the bag for Romney for the whole northern East area starting at Maryland.

I was posting here last year that Maryland would go to Romney easily for the nomination. I learned that lesson when they fell in line for McCain in 2008 pre-Palin and there was no convincing them other-wise. These are the Erhlich RINOs. They always think these Establishment RINOs have the best chance.

I did get a negative premonition tonight:
Look at the Maryland RINO party enthusiastic selection pattern : Erhlich, McCain and now Romney. That tells me that Romney will lose to Obama. Maryland RINOs selection is a sign of disaster like an Omen of doom.

Well, he is a pro-life leader. You probably know that so I will move on.

Rick has an A+ rating from the National Rifle Organization.

Citizens Against Government Waste rated Santorum the most conservative Senator during his 12 years there.

This is compared to the person who gave us RomneyCare and wrote an op-ed in the newspaper after Obama was elected saying RomneyCare should expand nationally!

I cannot believe some Romney supporters think Romney is more conservative than Santorum.
