I SO wish we had another choice besides Romney--but even with "Obama light" we will be much better off because of the threat Obama poses to the corner stone on which our nation stands--the Constitution!

Be it far from me to insult a Freeper for whom I have a great deal of respect, but seriously, you must know that Romney is an utter turncoat in Republican clothing.

Given the chance, he won't do anything substantially different from Obama. He'll just be very polite and apologetic about upholding every rotten thing Obama has done, and will not steer the country a single degree off the course Obama has set. He'll even appoint liberals to the federal bench and the Supreme Court.

Even a cursory glance at his record as Governor of Massachusetts will tell you that, and he hasn't undergone any sort of core transformation in the interim. He's still a big government liberal who gives lip service to the Constitution, conservative values, and Old Glory. He doesn't mean a single word of it.

The other danger of Romney winning the election, is that a Republican dominated Congress will likely 'go along to get along' with the de facto (liberal) leader of their party. Not so with Obama, whom they will oppose with every fiber (well, most fibers) of their being.

It's a helluva conundrum we're in here. About the best I personally hope for, is for a real conservative to win the nominating contest in a brokered convention. That is my last and final hope for this election. Romney will not get my vote, no matter the consequences.

If you put the issues into three categories: social issues, national defense/foreign policy, and economics, at most Romney is as bad as Obama in the first of the three.

He has a liberal record on issues like abortion and gay rights, but I doubt he has the same degree of fanaticism about them as Obama does--and he would be bucking his party rather than being supported by it as Obama would be. On racial issues, I don't see him as deliberately trying to worsen race relations like Obama has been doing.

On the military and America's standing in the world, he doesn't have much of a record, but is it really plausible to think he would be as bad as Obama? Would he bow to the king of Saudi Arabia? Would he talk as if he thinks the US is no better than any other country, like Obama has? I don't think so.

On the economy, he would certainly be much better than Obama--he wouldn't be trying to destroy the free enterprise system in order to get to socialism, he wouldn't be invoking class warfare all the time.

Yes, I wish we had a real conservative who could beat Obama in the fall, but the ones who could have done so opted not to run. We need to focus on how bad another four years of Obama will be.

May I with all respect say I disagree with you. I do NOT want Romney to be our nominee, period.

HOWEVER we must stay united IF he is the candidate, and vote OBAMA OUT at all costs.

The choice will be ours.

2013 with OBAMA as President = loss of our freedoms and a beginning of a dictatorship. PERIOD... I personally don't want to run that risk.
