(NEWSER) -- Rick Santorum bowls a good game, but gay rights groups say he talks an offensive one. "You’re not gonna' use the pink ball. We’re not gonna' let you do that, not on camera," he told a young man while bowling with college Republicans in Wisconsin yesterday, the Raw Story reports. "Friends don't let friends use pink balls," he added. Critics say Santorum's remarks are just the latest in a long line of insensitive statements.
"He’s proven that he thinks LGBT people are second-class citizens not worthy of dignity or respect," says a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign gay-rights group. "In this case, he’s advancing tired gender norms by implying a boy should be ashamed or embarrassed to use a certain color bowling ball." Santorum has been bowling his way through Wisconsin ahead of the state's April 3 primary, and has challenged Mitt Romney to a bowl-off, according to theWashington Examiner.
Oh my!
Rick is risking losing the fag vote!
Go for the capillaries and nip ‘em to death.
Mine are pink...
Good.
I wouldn’t let my sons or grandsons use a pink bowling bowl in my presence either.
And if I was campaigning, I wouldn’t let a boy use a pink bowling bowl in a picture or video with me in it.
This will upset Omoslem.
But Omoslem’s boyfriends (Larry Sinclair; Reggie Love; 3 Murdered Trinity Church choir members) probably won’t mind.
The pink balls in a bowling alley are someting like 12 pounds, as opposed to a 16 pound mens normal weight. Rick made no comment about gays, gee people are really color sensitive these days.
LOL, you know that took courage!
There are not that many gays, but a lot of people are sympathetic to them, especially the MSM.
Kids have had acceptance of gays drilled in to them since kindergarten, and this has been going on for some time.
So it’s not 3% he potentially loses, but much more.
To the Boy: You can’t grab the president’s ball!
He’s right, I’ve bowled on many a league, and I can just picture the comments a guy would get if he wandered onto the lanes with a pink ball.
Yeah, that must be way more important than how much taxpayers are paying for the gas etc, for Michelle and the daughters’ trip shopping and to vegas today...
Why did we buy them?
Yeah, that must be way more important than how much taxpayers are paying for the gas etc, for Michelle and the daughters’ trip shopping and to vegas today...
What did we buy them?
Wow. This is what passes as news these days?
Rick Santorum is a heterosexual husband and father who doesn’t bow to the fiction that being ‘gay’ is perfectly normal. It isn’t and we all know it isn’t but the PC BS we’ve all meekly accepted tells us that we have to smile and pretend that homosexual behavior is just great and deserves respect. Of course, when a conservative veers off the PC track and indicates that he prefers a young man not use a pink bowling ball (on camera) the gay lobby goes bonkers and faints, recovering just long enough to issue some lame statement condemning Santorum for this rather innocuous gesture that they see as an attempted assault on gayness. I’m with Santorum on this one and I suspect that the vast majority of fathers in America would prefer their son not opt for a pink bowling ball.
I was prepared for this to be from The Onion.
Mine are usually blue... =^(
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. The media are OUTWAGED!
And Barney Fwank will NEVER endorse him now!
