I think there was a time period shortly after the Soviet collapse when it wasn’t very difficult to leave if you wanted to. You just needed somewhere to go that would take you in.
Militia groups will be taken-out on day 2 of the revolution.
You’d be better off joining the knitting circle. At least you’ll have some knitting needles to fight back with when the SHTF.

i suspect they will do each other in without any outside help
