Obama to Medvedev: “Give Me Space” on Missile Defense

The United States does not need to protect itself from the threat of ballistic missiles right now. At least that is what President Obama suggests with his recent exchange between himself and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul.

The exchange was as follows:

President Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.”

President Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you.…”

President Obama: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

President Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir [Putin].”

The United States and its allies remain unprotected from a threat of ballistic missiles while North Korea is preparing to launch yet another long-range missile. By conceding to Russian demands on missile defense, the Administration has made the situation even worse. Yet this is exactly what President is planning on doing if he gets re-elected.

When the Commander-in-Chief of the United States military asks a representative of a foreign nation, especially one that has been outwardly hostile for nearing a century, for diplomatic wiggle-room so that unilateral armament reduction can continue without the “hassle” of an election cycle, you have what used to be called treason, but evidently has been dropped from the popular lexicon.

He can pass on whatever he wants once he's retired this January.

Golf tips, maybe.

Yup. You can play golf ALL day instead of just most of it. And catch up on your soaps, take up pottery, learn to play the lute. Ect. ect. Maybe you can jump out of airplanes with Poppy Bush.

"... it's important for him to give me space.”

Something tells me that "space for Obama" is exactly what the Treyvon circus is all about.

IMHO Obama’s behavior on this critical foreign policy issue will destroy him this fall. There is no mistaking what he said, no way to spin out of the fallout.

Anyone watching the video should be sickened and disgusted that he would time any foreign policy decisions around an election.

Of course politicians play politics. That’s not the point.

Here is an American president doing it on camera for all the world to see.

Obama has humiliated us to the world, bowing down to the Russian bear.

Barack, Tovarich, this is going to be your last election, but not in the way you think!

You said it, I wonder what else has been “transmitted to Vladimir” or other foreign leaders during the communist grad student’s time in the Oval Office.

“Give me space” is code for, “What more do you want? I have already surrendered space to you.” As in, there is no moon base happening under Obama’s plans. And who is in the International Space Station? Who is transporting astronauts to and from the ISS? Space is where Star Wars is. And Obama surrendered the US to the Mother Russian ship.

Oh, and I think Obama was asking for help from Mother Russia in his reelection efforts.
