David Plouffe: Newt Gingrich’s Comments ‘Reprehensible’
ABC ^ | March 25, 2012 | George Stephanopoulos

Posted on 03/25/2012 6:10:03 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Obama senior advisor David Plouffe this morning eviscerated former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on “This Week” after the GOP presidential candidate lashed out at the president for his comments on Trayvon Martin.

....Plouffe was addressing comments Gingrich made on “The Sean Hannity Show” this past Friday.

“What the President said, in a sense, is disgraceful. It’s not a question of who that young man looked like. Any young American of any ethnic background should be safe. Period,” said Gingrich. “We should all be horrified no matter what the ethnic background. Is the President suggesting that if it had been a white who had been shot that would be okay because it wouldn’t look like him? That’s just nonsense.”....

Newt Gingrich said WHAT OBAMA should have have said, what a leader would say. But Obama is too busy doing what we've come to expect of him - Obama, his administration and his lap-dog state media, are actively working to divide the country and continue their Marxist push in the U.S. for 4 more years (which may well make it irreversible).

Plouffe is such a sniveling, conniving lightweight.

And why oh why does the 0bama camp always find themselves responding to Newt???

They made DeNiro apologize, now this and other examples. Haven’t seen them do that with Romney or Santorum. They’re concerned with Newt. Because he gets it. Newt is still the only one that can distill the argument and make the statement in such a way as to pierce the heeart of the 0bama camp and make them cringe. I’m with Newt until he is no longer a candidate. And if he should lose, Romney should have him as VP.

There will be no discussion of Newt’s policy positions or his pro-Constitutional principles. The Administration will focus the conversation on trivia and/or racial division.

Whoever ends up being the Republican nominee, I hope the other candidates will continue their public criticism of Obama through election day. Obama and his henchmen won’t know which way to turn if they’re getting it from numerous directions.

Plouffe is just feeding red meat to his boss' political base. Dem activists THRIVE on this kind of petty, meaningless name-calling. Which doesn't show Plouffe's ignorance so much as theirs'.

I'm with Newt too.

Obama's full comments [emphasis mine]: "Well, I'm the head of the executive branch and the attorney general reports to me, so I've got to be careful about my statements to make sure that we're not impairing any investigation that's taking place right now.

But, obviously, this is a tragedy. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids. And, you know, I think every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this and that everybody pulls together -- federal, state and local -- to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.

So I'm glad that not only is the Justice Department looking into it, I understand now that the governor of the state of Florida has formed a task force to investigate what's taking place. I think all of us have to do some soul-searching to figure out how does something like this happen. And that means that we examine the laws and the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident.

But my main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin. You know, if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon. And, you know, I think they are right to expect that all of us, as Americans, are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves and that we're going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened."

He could probably eviscerate a Brownie Girl Scout - if her hands were tied behind her back.
