A pair of bald eagles is nesting on the San Francisco Peninsula for the first time in nearly a century, a milestone for the once-endangered symbol of strength and grandeur.
The nest is tucked deep in a fir tree on the far edge of northern Crystal Springs Reservoir -- hard for humans to see, but with a bird's-eye view of 7.15 million noisy neighbors.

Ah, Leftists must protect their precious mass-murdering banning of DDT. Few things they've done have killed more people, so the lie about it must be preserved throughout the generations.
As usual with these killers, the truth is exactly opposite their claims:
"Widespread publicity was given to claims in the 1960s that the survival of certain species of wild birds was threatened through the thinning of their eggshells. This was blamed on DDT. In reality, bird populations increased significantly after DDT was introduced. It was later learned that studies that were done to prove eggshell thinning were fraudulent. The study birds were deliberately malnourished and calcium was withheld, conditions known to produce eggshell thinning."
