"Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich drew more than 300 spectators to Dodson Auditorium on Thursday evening at an event that also included representatives for Ron Paul’s and Rick Santorum’s campaigns.

Gingrich, who wore a purple and gold tie, said he “changes ties” but “doesn’t change his policies.”

During his 15-minute speech, Gingrich focused on energy policy and gas prices.

“Obama can’t buy enough ads to convince me that gas is cheap,” he said. “We do not want any American president to bow to a Saudi king.”

Thursday’s forum and subsequent straw poll was hosted by the LSU College Republicans and sponsored by the Baton Rouge Tea Party to rally supporters behind Republican candidates before Saturday’s state primary."......Source

I watched that forum and the crowd was very enthusiastic. They seemed to have a respect for NEWT that is sorely missing in the other candidates. Praying for NEWT.

Newt is a natural fit for the job. It will take the Speaker’s clarity, focus, determination and know-how to shake up and roll back entrenched Big Government. He is a man who sees American’s exceptionalism and loves his country.

Wait until you figure out Romney.
If we nominate Romney, Romney will lose.
On another thread, WhiskeyX's analysis is very good on

Very well described!
Maybe it's time we got some DINOs to copy this evil plan against Democrats.
But who would soil their name and credibility, to do such an evil thing against the real evildoers? "

His sleeves are rolled up and ready for work! He may be ‘Speaker’ but he is also a ‘Doer’.

Newt is the ‘complete package’ to hold the office of President, there is no doubt about it.

He’s been through the wringer and is still standing strong. The other 3 would have folded under the same pressure. He is the only answer for our country.I respect him deeply. Go NEWT.

I;m so tired of this.

At this point, its MANIFESTLY apparent that the MAJORITY of Republicans:

a) DON’T want Romney, and

b) Can’t decide WHO they want.

Maybe it should go to the convention and get settled there.
Too bad we can;t move the convention back to early July.

Dear Louisiana Conservatives – NOW is the TIME TO CONSOLIDATE (pushed to Newt's fan club) ...."Louisiana has the potential to be the turning point. So say Newt’s advisers. I believe they have crafted a very good argument that logically provides one path to nomination for Newt, but if pursued it will likely cause a brokered convention (something that I’m not “totally” against, especially when chattering candi-bots for Santorum are talking 3rd party)."....

I’m absolutely convinced that Newt Gingrich is the junkyard dog we need to rip Obama a new one and send him slinking back to his Chicago doghouse with his tail between his legs. Newt has plenty of DC experience as Speaker, executive ability from his many enterprises, and a silver tongue that’s razor sharp! He’s fast on his feet, delivers it straight up with no hemming and hawing, and is often witty. His work with American Solutions was very impressive and as we’ve seen recently, Newt is able to put into words what the vast majority of Americans really believe. His fevered brain also has plenty of ideas for making government work better for taxpayers. Is Newt pure as new-driven snow? No - none of the presidential candidates are in line for sainthood. Whatever Newt’s “baggage”, it pales next to Obama’s habitual lying and outright corruption - and unlike Obama, Newt is 100% American! Newt is like Larry the Cable Guy: send him to DC and he’ll “Get ‘er done” for all of us. Newt has “Been there, done that! Junkyard dogs are not show dogs, but they’ll save your bacon!

I am damn mad at what Obama and his fawning bootlickers have stolen from us - you should be too - and I want someone to represent me! Newt Gingrich is that man! Sic ‘im, Newt!

Now that the kinda number we SHOULD be pulling in the LA primary today.

Whether or not we do depends on the voters taking time to do their own research and going to the poll.

YES, GO NEWT. He is the ONLY candidate that I can imagine standing up not only to American values but to other tyrant’s around the WORLD. He will guide those who now get Obama Money each month and get them out to work and know what it is to be something and an American.

Romney and Santorium are milk toast and cannot stand firm on issues. They change on issues as much as they change jeans and sweater vests. NEWT looks Presidential, talks Presidential, has implemented his goals in Congress Presidential...basically is a proven LEADER- which many have forgotten what a LEADER does.

He got my money yesterday and I’m getting a sticker for the car!! NEWT, ride the WEST winning it for sound mind and values!!!!

Romney really, really worries me. A victory for Romney is a victory for the GOP Liberal RINO establishment.

Look....we can both have a cup of tea when this is over if you promise to support my candidate (if he wins the nomination) and speak kindly of him...

..and I'll promise to do the same for Newt.

How about that?
