Its really an assault on food production.

Scarce farm labor will already be made even more scarce. Who will it benefit? Illegals? It certainly won’t increase production of food products.

I used to read about the Ag. policies of the Soviet Union and China and naively think, “how could they be so stupid?” I realized only much later that their policies weren’t about production or efficiency, it was about control and politics.

Obama is no different.

I have never been able to find the quote again but I’m sure I read somewhere that Stalin said that when the people get hungry enough they’ll take anything you give them.

I think that’s exactly where Obama wants us - hungry and begging him. The man is a monster.

... add in the effects of his energy policy.

This sill squeeze marginal farmers even more. For the larger operators, the costs get passed on... as inflation marches on.

This is a massive power play in favor of unions. The plan is to unionize every scrap of labor that has previously been done by farm family members.

The small farmers are getting regulated from all sides. Especially small organic. FDA, EPA and now DOL.

Government attempt to control the food supply , add MIchelle Obama's talk of food deserts. They will look for a ways to control the supply and distribution in the name of justice, fairness or climate change

Not only an assault on food production. It is a way for the government to take more land from the people. Most family farms are in farm land or tree growth, and pay a lower tax rate. After a number of years the land is worth less than the taxes, so it cannot be sold and if the farm does not produce and is abandoned it immediately reverts to the government.
