WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former senator Bob Dole says GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is "getting close to the point" where he'll have to decide whether to stay in the race for the nomination or drop out.

In a telephone interview Wednesday, Dole told The Associated Press he was speaking from the experience of staying in the 1988 GOP nomination fight too long.

"Dole told The Associated Press he was speaking from the experience of staying in the 1988 GOP"

Too bad he didn't take his own advise in 1996.

Funny how these guys aren’t suggesting that candidates in far worse positions drop out. Just the candidate who poses the greatest threat to Romney.

It is proven that Viagra causes an increase of blood flow to the male (ahem) 'member' which facilitates the desired engorgement for the enjoyment of the patient and their partner(s).

It is therefore a logical conclusion that Viagra also causes a corresponding amount of blood to be drained from the brain, i.e., which explains Bob Dole's profound and pungent political prognostications.

In plain and simple man-on-the-street language, STFU BOB!

Sen. Dole left a good chunk of his body in the mountains of Italy fighting the Nazis just before the end of WWII, and he spent 3+ years in recovery, two of them in a hospital. For that, he gets a pass from me. He's a card-carrying member of the GOP-e, and I wish he would just worry about his ED (Elizabeth Dole). But he has earned the right to say what he wants, when he wants. It's the Michael Moores and Chrissie Matthews of the world that need to STFU.

Bob, God bless your legacy of great sacrifice and service to the Nation.

How’s about you just rest on your laurels and stand down with the “advice?” Rick Santorum didn’t urge you to concede when it was crystal clear from the start, that you had no chance — none whatsoever — of beating Clinton in 1996.
