This is the GOP-e game, and they have done it for every four years now, the last true Conservative Republican being Ronald Reagan and even that represented a bottom-up, grassroots rebellion against both GOP-e and the MSM arrayed against him. This fix is in, has been for weeks and months. Next it will be amplified by "conservative" talk show hosts already in the tank to urge the lemmings to go over the cliff for Bishop Romney as a "fait d'accompli" which they engineered from the start and knocked out conservative after conservative threat in this race. Bachman. Cain (joined the media circus and did not come to his defense). Perry. Next will be Gingrigh and Santorum for sure. Our great Nation has been experiencing a cancer growing since the 1960's (read: "Sliding Into Gomorrah" by Robert Bork). Our institutions have become totalitarian breeding grounds for the "gimmes", which in turn, creates more "gimmes".
I used to love our Nation. I was proud to served our Country for 11 years. Now, I don't care if it all destructs.
Even with the TEA Party freshmen in the House, what good has become of it? How many blatant un-Constitutional laws and regulations have been unfunded? We all know the House has the purse strings. Give me a list of what has been unfunded.
The system is broken. I know why and have posted many times the fix (think Texas part-time legislature for one), but no one wants to fight for those fixes. Instead, it's all about their favorite politician and who's playing in the next election. Rah, Rah, Shish Boom Bah! Got pom-poms?
