The universal suffrage is the culprit.

I would attach the privilege (not a “right”) to vote to each person’s personal IQ. Under a low limit - say 95 - one cannot vote.

That is to Jim Crow. However, I wished we could link voting to filling a tax return. Street people shouldn’t be voting, nor should those in college not yet working. If you don’t pay income tax, you shouldn’t be voting.
