Of course, Wang’s defection was refused. Barry needs to keep in the good graces of the ChiComs just in case HE needs a place to defect to.

I’m hearing that VP Xi Jinping will be the next President and Vice-Premier Li Keqiang will replace Wen Jiabao who is rumored to be retiring this fall??

Right Xi will take over and Wen would be out. What I meant is that incoming leadership may settle for status quo, considering Bo is out. However, I doubt that this power struggle will end here. Boom time in China is over. Tough time is ahead. Bo positioned himself ahead of curve. Now that he is gone and won't come back in time, somebody else will assume Bo's role, unleashing Maoist reform against ‘corrupt kleptocrats,’ a broad net which can catch many powerful figures.

[Article] Did the administration throw a defector to the wolves in order to have a smooth smile-fest event for what was then the pending visit of China’s Vice-President Xi Jinping?

No, Barry threw him to the wolves because Barry doesn't like inconstant, flagging Leftists who don't hew to the Party line with sufficient Stakhanovite enthusiasm, and because Barry owes foreign central banks and intelligence services big.

The Bu Der literally owned Slick, but it looks like they've got a good-sized chunk of Barry in the name of fraternal Marxist-Leninist blah blah blah.
